DCL charge current rates for changes?

Hi! I have an upcoming cruise and decided to change my stateroom to a lower category. In the past, I would get the price of what that category would be when I booked the original reservation.

When I changed my stateroom from 4E to 5C, the new price was higher. It charged me the current price.

Does anyone know when this changed?

I was unaware and now I wish I just kept my 4E which was less than 5C.

Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you! I have not been checking this forum regularly. I wish I did. I must have missed that email. I have several DCL bookings, I can't believe I missed the notification for each of them.

You would not have received the message posted in that thread. It was sent to travel agents, not guests holding reservations.

Thank you. That explains why I don't remember seeing it.

Although...wouldn't DCL have sent the announcement to those with cruise bookings? I checked all my emails from DCL (and there's lots of them) but I didn't see any with that notification.

Thanks to this board, now I know. I should take more time checking here.
