Our family enjoys character meet and greets. Each trip to WDW, we try to take a family picture with Mickey at each of the four parks - we just love to see him in his different costumes and track the kids' growth from trip to trip based on these pictures.

I'm interested to hear about the character costumes on DCL, particularly for Mickey and Minnie. I know that Caribbean cruises have the characters in their "beach wear", but is it the same beach/island costume across the ships? Or does each ship sailing the Caribbean/Bahamas have its own unique set of beach costumes? Similarly, are Mickey's captain and pirate costumes the same across the fleet? What other costumes are common across the fleet? Which are unique to the particular ship/itinerary (i.e. Alaskan Mickey)?

Pictures welcomed and appreciated! :)

We've been on two ships with the beach costumes and they were the same both times. They also seemed to be the same as the beach wear the characters wear at the character breakfast at the Beach Club Cape May Cafe at WDW. On our three cruises, the cruise wear was the same across the three ships we've been on.

Here are all the costumes I'm aware of (there may be more) and from what I've seen, they're the same across the ships:

1. Cruise
2. Beach
3. Formal
4. Pirate
5. Alaskan
6. Halloween
7. Patriotic (4th of July)
5. Thanksgiving (think Pilgrims)
6. Christmas

There's also a princess costume that Minnie wears. I can't recall what Mickey was wearing the night we saw Minnie in her princess costume or what the occasion was for her princess costume.
