We need some help from current or soon to be embarking 7 night cruisers. We are sailing on the Sept. 25th Western Cruise. Can anyone who is on the Magic now or in the next few weeks, keep their eye out for our favorite cast member, John Cunningham from Scottland. When we last sailed, he was a head server. We're would like to find out if he will be on board while we're sailing so that we can request his station. He was our server in 2002 and head server in 2003 and my family just loves him. He made each cruise an incredible experience.

Thanks for your help everyone!

Any recent cruisers, have you seen John? Any future cruisers, please keep a look out. We'd like to know if he'll be on the ship on 9/25.

I read the title of this thread and then clicked to see who the "All Points Bulletin" was for.

My family was on a 7 day Eastern in July of '03 and John the Head Server was a real joy and a lot fun. Our trip which ended on July 5th was the end of John's contract so he was looking forward to flying back home to Scotland and seeing his family.

This thread blew me away that the one person on our upcoming cruise that we would love to see again is the same person that allears is asking about.

To help the "ABP" here is a picture of John that we took last July. I think it is great that certain CMs make such an impression on you that you can't wait (hope) to see them again.

I wish us both luck allears.

John was our head server on the July 3 sailing of The Magic.

And John was our head server on the 4/17 Magic

John was our headserver in May, for about 2 days. He then got an eye infection & was gone for the rest of the cruise. The 2 days we did see him, he was always friendly...

John was our head server on the 7/3, and is still sticking spoons to his face and rubbing birthday cake on the recipient's nose.

Here he is on the July 3, 2004 cruise, and yes, one of the girls did find herself with cake cream on her nose!

Bumping this back up. Still hoping someone will make contact with John and find out if he'll be on the ship on September 25, 2004.

Thanks!

He was on the 7th Aug sailing - he was the APL rotation if that helps. And of course he is wonderful - he's Scottish!!

He was our head server last October. I have to say that he has been one of the best head servers we have had as far as interaction and such.

It's easy to see why so many people like him.

Hi!

We just got back from our first cruise a few hours ago (We were on the Magic Western 8/14-8/21 "Hurricane Charley" cruise....more details and a trip report to follow....)

Anyway, John Cunningham was our head server!! We had the PLAPLAP rotation. He was very nice, and yes, he's still putting whipped cream/cake on people's noses.

That must have been an interesting trip from what I've read thus far. Did John say when he is due for his next vacation? My youngest son, now 8, thinks he is the best thing about the ship! So we're very much hoping he is still on board when we sail.

No, he didn't say, and I honestly didn't think to ask. We really didn't get to speak with John all that much, so we did not get to know him like you did. We did, however, have a ball with our server, Wilson, from the Phillipines and our asst. server, Jennifer, from England. They were SO wonderful and it was incredibly sad saying goodbye to them this morning!
