A six pack or two bottles of wine per port is plenty. Honestly, if the entire cruise is made or broken on getting ****-faced for less, then people need to rethink their priorities.
I think your comment is a bit over the top to be honest
Again, I go back to the beverage package which I expect DCL to announce. I personally like the idea of pricing cruises more individually.
Don't include or let me bring alcohol, but let me pay for packages....I'm okay with that. BUT, now give me the option of not going to the MDR (severely over rated in my opinion). If someone wants to eat there nightly, let them pay for it. Same with Senses, Child care, etc. I understand why they don't do it that way, but I like the idea of more personalization (and pricing that matches) while cruising.
Anyone wonder how the atmosphere will be on the ship for those who have paid in full and are going not happy about the new policies.

Also, I think, for many people it is the principle of the thing, rather than the alcohol in and itself. At least in part.
Well, not you specifically and I apologize if it looks like I was attacking you. It's just frustrating to see a bunch of people dismiss our concerns because this one change doesn't affect them. I want people to understand that yes, this is one change. But it's also one change in a series of changes showing that there's a pattern of cutting back on perks while charging more for the product. At what point is there no longer a reason to pay a premium?
I will take you up on that drink, though. I need it!![]()
People have to vent...
It is just the principle of it

I feel like this thread (and others like it) is equal parts bizarre and educational! If you take fireball and a jar of maraschino cherries, dump out the juice, and fill the jar of cherries with the fireball, let them sit in the fridge for a while, you have some really tasty cherries!!!
Norwegian sounds right up your alley then. Not being snarky. We like them very much. They offer the exact pricing model you suggest.
BTW just to post the slightly different response I just received (word for word copied in):
We regret the disappointment expressed in your email. It is not our intent to upset our loyal Disney Cruise Line Guests.
Please allow me to explain. We regularly evaluate our policies and procedures and it is true that we have recently changed our alcohol beverage policy to limit the amount and types of alcohol Guests may bring onboard in our home- and out-ports.
For the sake of clarity, as you probably know, effective for cruises embarking on or after September 30, 2015, Guests 21 years and older may bring aboard a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) in their carry-on luggage at the beginning of the cruise and at each port-of-call. This type of alcohol beverage policy is not unusual in the cruise industry.
Additional information on our policies can be found on our website at:

Though it may take time for the input we receive to be fully assessed and acted upon as a whole, please believe that we are seriously committed to, and diligently working toward, providing our Guests the kind of magical vacation they have come to expect from Disney. We will continue to strive to provide our Guests with the finest vacation and entertainment experiences, and we are very grateful for your valuable input to help us achieve that goal.
We hope these concerns will not affect your regard for Disney, as there is magic in the Disney name.
