Just got off our 24 th Cruise this morning and it was amazing as ever. Despite awful weather leaving port the captain found great weather throughout and made the smart decision to skip Castaway on Wednesday and redo on Thursday where the weather turned out perfect! Great crew. Beauty and the Beast amazing.

My one heads up to future cruisers going to the resorts. The procedure has changed since last time we did so (it’s been a while) and we got a letter in room saying get off by 815 so you can get on bus by 9 when they all leave. Not a fan of that kind of rigid schedule but I get it. So we did as suggested and pulled our luggage off so we didn’t even have to hunt anything down. but due to long lines showed up outside at 9:02. The bus was sitting there and had room but they had “closed the paperwork “. I didn’t raise a stink but now wish I had at least said something to try to get on it. Because now we are sitting on the “last bus” for nearly an hour waiting for others to get off ship. Frustrating for sure as we only have one day in park. Will uber or town car from now on. If you must take the bus get off earlier than suggested to make sure you get on that bus.

How is this supposed to work if you have the later breakfast? IIRC, if you have second seating, breakfast is at about 8:15 am. How are you supposed to eat and get out there for 9 am? Was the second breakfast seating earlier? And this is only for buses to the resorts not the airport?

You can eat at Cabanas.

Yes you have to eat at Cabanas which is what we normally do. And I believe it is just for resort bus. Have been on this bus for 2 hours and 4 minutes and of course bus driver just gave order of drop off and ours (grand fla) is last. Sigh.

Yes seems a very recent change, wasn't like that for us, and they will loose custom if continuing.

Seems they are changing things, recently they started collecting children in the Fantasy in Main dinner, that's a plus.

"Closed the paperwork" -- is the paperwork too complicated to add someone later? I would have said something.

Not sure about any change but we did the port-resort bus for the first time last October and I wouldn't recommend it as a general rule. We love the port-airport bus because in most cases you get on a bus, it fills up in a few minutes and you are off to the airport. With the resort buses you're much more likely to be sitting and waiting for it to fill up and then you probably will stop at a few other resorts before you finally get dropped off. It took us forever to get from the port to the CR last year, but getting from the port to CR in a super-stretch limo was much better; especially since we only booked and paid for a town car.

They went to the system of all buses leaving at 9am a few years ago. I hated it on early seating because you have to sit around for an hour or longer waiting for the bus to leave. I would be even madder if it left without me.

I hate this too. Last July everyone was on the bus before 8am, except 1 family. They didn't show up until a little after 9am. Since we had early breakfast and wanted to hit the parks, we ended up sitting on the bus for over an hour and a half. I probably wouldn't take DCL's transportation from the port to the resorts again, even though it's probably the cheapest route with just the 3 of us. I wonder if it would have been better to do the airport bus and then take DME or a cab/uber to WDW. We took the DCL bus from MCO to the port without any issues or big delays.

We thought about doing the bus to airport then DME. You would have to put in a dummy reservation to get on the DME. Honestly not sure if it is faster since the DME is hit or miss on wait times. If you want to get to WDW fast, taking the airport bus then getting a cab/uber might be the best way.

This makes me think I should change how we get to POFQ after our cruise. There is only 3 of us. Does anyone know the cost of a cab or town car to POFQ from the port? Any recommendations of a company? We have already PIF - can the transfer cost be credited back to me?

There are 3 of us as well. It's always been more expensive when I have priced it out to take a town car/uber/cab or even to pick up a rental car in Port Canaveral and drop off back at MCO. I think you can price it out online pretty easily. Of the top of my head, I think a town car is about $200 back to a WDW resort. The extra cost might be worth it though. I think uber/cab is more expensive, but I could be wrong.
