DCL bus to AKL?

After we finish our 7 day Western I want to go to WDW for a few days (most likely Animal Kingdom Lodge). After our last cruise we just got on a DCL bus to the airport (depressing!). I didn't pay much attention to where the other busses were going. Can we get on a bus that will take us to AKL - or at least the WDW area? I assume that the busses have to end up there eventually to pick up the cruisers leaving that day. Please let me know if this is going to work since I signed up for DCL transfers. Thanks!

This is what we're planning to do this Sept.

We're taking DCL transfers TO PC from the airport.
Once the cruise ends, we're taking WDW transfers to Pop Century.
When our stay at Pop is over, we're using the Magical Express back to the airport.

We bought 2 (me and DSis) one-way transfers to PC from the airport, 2 one-way transfers from PC to Pop, and ME is free when you stay on site.

Does that answer your question? I'm not sure I did, but I wanted to let you know it is possible to get from PC to a WDW resort. You don't use DCL transportation to get there, however; you buy WDW transfers for that leg of the trip.

This is exactly the info I have been looking for. How much did the one way transfers from MCO to PC cost? Was it the same price for PC to WDW? Will it drop me at the Fort Wilderness Cabins or do I have to go to a "cruise" hotel? Thanks for the infor!

The transfers from MCO to PC are $59 per person (I believe; I deleted that email from our TA, but looked on DCL's site). I think this is for both ways, so ours was $29 per person for one-way transfers.

For PC to your resort, you'll need to check with DCL, WDW, or your TA to find out if they drop off at Fort Wilderness. Our charge for this was $25 per person for one way transfers.

This is all based on memory. HTH. You definitely need to confirm with Disney or your TA about cost and whether or not they "deliver" you to FW. We had to send a few emails back and forth to our TA, who is very good, in order to clarify our wishes for transportation. I think most people who do this just use a rental car because I haven't heard of many others doing it.

Thanks - I already signed up for DCL transfers both ways so I need to decide if I am definitely going to AKL and change my transportation coming back... This is very helpful!

Can you purchase the transfers in advance? If so, where? Can they be purchased via the website? Thanks in advance!

At the end of your DCL cruise there will definitely be a bus you can board which will stop at the AKL. Probably will stop at other resorts to on its way there as well.

We purchased them through our TA in advance (wouldn't want to wait until last minute). You can do the same or call DCL to do this.
