We are looking at taking the DCL bus from Port Orleans French Quarter for a 4-night cruise in December. Has anyone done this before? And how did it go?

Just could not resist the $85 rate for POFQ and took a room for the night before the cruise. That should get us in the spirit before the cruise

Know I've seen this talked about before, but my memory is getting really bad lately. I need a vacation! lol

Two years ago, the bus picked us up at 11:30 and got us to the port by 12:30. Don't wait inside like they tell you, wait out front. Try to be in the front of the bus if you can. You will have to check in at the port unless your stay at POFQ is part of your cruise package, which if you are only staying one night I am assuming it is not. If you aren't in the ressies rush, take the time to look around, check out the model, go outside and look at how big the ship truley is, and get in the mood.

On the trip over, you will be entertained by a video. But if you've seen the cruise video they mail out, you've seen a lot of the show. It's still entertaining.

Have fun. The POFQ is a really nice place.

Your response is so informative. We surely appreciate that. I have debated over towncar or bus. Only two of us so towncar is more, but I do like to have control over what time we get picked up. But sometimes bus is better too - higher up and get a better view of things sometimes. :)

Yes, our one night stay at POFQ is not part of a package. The promo rate was too good to pass up. And I think it should get us in the Disney mood.

Don't think I'll rush for any ressies. I just don't move that fast when on vacation anyway. :D Plus we're more the sort to take whatever is available, if anything, when we make ressies. Probably just interested in Palo's and any night would work for us.

Good attitude! I have also found that with just the two of us, the DCL bus works just as well unless you have to be there first, have to be on the ship first, have to get that specific ressie and have to be at the airport for an early flight. Then, forget DCL and go with the towncar. Life is too short for the worry.
