How did you decide whether you wanted your ceremony on-board or on CC? What factored into your decision?

DH is sounding like he'd be on-board (tee hee:rotfl:) for a DCL VR :yay: and I'm trying to run some numbers through the planning sheet in Carrie's book. Both locations look beautiful and I'm torn--the price difference is a factor too. On the one had I'd love to do it on the beach because that's so unique but I also like the idea of being on-board, plus the timing of an on-board ceremony is nice so that we'd still be "gussied up" for dinner. But then I wouldn't have any pictures of us on the beach in our VR attire. Ahhh....help!:lmao:

Money factor asside it was a no brainer for us to choose CC. We both love the water and beach and tropical areas. And this is a special event that we couldn't do at home.

It was a no brainer for me either....I love the beach and I love Disney and this was the perfect way to have a casual (classy) wedding. At the time I didn't know it, but we had too many people for the secret deck anyway. I loved being near the water and I am the only bride I know with pictures of me and my DH laying in the sand on our wedding day!

Your beach pictures are so great -- they are actually what got me going on the CC idea. At first I definitely thought if we did it it'd be on-board. The pros, for us, of being on board are the late-afternoon timing and also that it'd be easier juggling DD to the kids' club but then I keep going back to how unique CC is and the photo ops.

Exactly what Lisa said. No brainer for me. Plus, the landscaping of the beach, the water, the sand - it's like your venue is already gorgeously decorated!

My daughter and her fiancee pick to have the ceremony on Deck 7, so that everyone who decided to come on the cruise to attend the wedding would have the opportunity to totally ENJOY Castaway Cay. They didn't know who if any would ever do a Disney Cruise again and they didn't want them to miss the fun on the Island.

They want them to Enjoy the Cruise itself (after all they are paying to be on the cruise) and I kind of like that idea also. She isn't going to totally plan anything for anyone, she is linking the Dining so we are all together other than that it is do as you please. Everyone will be at the wedding but they can do as they please other than that.

I am sure we will all be out together in the eveings and so on but as far as meeting for breakfast and so on.....Even I realize these guys are "young" some still Seniors in College they are sleepin in if they get a chance....lol

We had PLENTY of time on Castaway Cay. We were at the beach having lunch by 12:30pm and had about 4 hours at the beach. No one seemed to think it wasnt enough time.

I have seen so many great pictures on both deck 7 and on the beach. I doubt you can go wrong!

I wanted Deck 7 but we had too many people. Also, my DM is 91 and future MIL is 87. Thought it would be too difficult for them to walk on the beach at all. Plus neither one of us are really beach people. It's the cruise ship that I love. Also, for the $1000 difference (second wedding for both of us), I'd rather spend it on my guests ( fish extenders, gifts; drinks; etc etc). We will be getting married in the Cadillac Lounge on May 22, 2009. I can't wait.

we were on a Back 2 Back cruise with 3 CC stops, but all my friends were SOO looking forward to CC (the best part of the cruise in our opinion) so I didn't want to ask them to give that up

When I called in July 2007, they tried to get me to have it in the lounge, but I had seen the Deck 7 ceremonies, so that is what I had pictured..I loved it and Atlantis in the background was so pretty

Just an FYI ..... They take your guests to the castaway cay loaction via tram, when they get off they still need to walk a little bit. If you have people with mobility problems they will take them in a golf cart right to the chairs....no walking at all! My IL's could never had made the walk. I am glad Disney was so helpful!

Thanks everyone!:goodvibes We still haven't made a decision:confused3. We're tossing around a couple of ideas--3 night cruise with an onboard VR/2 nights at WDW and hiring a prof. photog for a photo session at the resort vs. 4 night cruise with CC VR/1 night at WDW with no photos. And then of course I keep coming up with other combos, just to drive DH nuts:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
