Disney is being very generous to those who have gone up and down the roller coaster and are going to be able to cruise Tuesday, 50% off, $200 AND 25% voucher for future travel.

I am glad to get our full refund, but I sure would have liked to been able to rebook on board or get the onboard discount for it for another cruise.

I heard on the news that people who are already in their hotel rooms are not being asked to leave so that the new arrivals can check into that room. Is this true? What is happening at WDW?

Rae, once this all dies down and after finding out that out that Ivan hopefully passes us by, maybe you can talk to Disney and them about your feelings regarding this. Who knows, maybe they'll work something out with you since you are so loyal to Disney. Give it a try, all they can do is say no, but maybe they'll surprise you!

While the hurricane is not DCL's fault, how they handle it is. I don't think they've handled it badly, then again, I haven't spent the last three days in a hotel with a three-year-old with nothing to do and nowhere to go. It was a vent, pure and simple. And no, DCL and the Pope are not interchangeable in the infallibility realm...

Well said Miss Jasmine!!!!! My husband tried to say that and was told it wasn't HIS vacation or His cruise so, more or less, butt out!

I guess you can't get into the minds of everyone.

Miss Jasmine, I saw a report in Florida Today that Delta won't resume flights to MLB until the tower reopens. Was the tower damaged?

Sorry if this was posted and I missed it but.....

What was the 8pm announcement??

"Susie51 I heard on the news that people who are already in their hotel rooms are not being asked to leave so that the new arrivals can check into that room. Is this true? What is happening at WDW? "

Good question Susie, I think I can answer it. I managed a hotel about 100 miles from Charleston SC when Hugo hit. We only had 30 rooms and they were all full of people running from the hurricaine. This was on Wed and Thurs. .On Friday the entire hotel was booked for a wedding for a member of the "Firestone" family! YIKES! The rooms were booked months ahead of time with people flying in from all over the world. However...we were unable to "make" our guests leave. To put out paying guests, who have no place to go, goes against hotel "rules" (I am not sure if these are actual laws, or just self imposed rules of doing busniess in the hotel industry). At any rate we made alternative arragements for the wedding guests and I am happy to say everyone was very understanding.

Before this gets any further out of hand I'm closing the post. The announcement has been made and the post has served its purpose.
