DCL 11/19/03 - St. Thomas

We woke up early to be at immigration by 7 am Wednesday morning. Mike carried Kaitlyn and I put William in the stroller. The stayed in their PJs asleep until we got to the theater. It was a quick process and I was surprised that they didn’t even ask to see our BCs. We decided to go up to Topsiders for breakfast since everyone was now awake. The deck was still wet from a shower during the night. We had not planned to go ashore at St. Thomas since we found out that The Magic was anchoring in the bay and would tender ashore. After talking a little at breakfast, we decided to try it and walk around the island a little. We quickly packed a backpack and went to pick up tender tickets. It ended up being the last one so we had to wait for the open tender line.

It didn’t take long for the tender to fill and head away from The Magic. Once ashore we walked thru the shopping plaza and down to the market. We were able to pick up some pretty bracelet’s, t-shirts, a polo shirt, and maracas for the kids. Mike then decided that he would like to attempt to walk up the hill to get a picture of the ship from shore. It was pretty hot and the kids and I ended up waiting for him to return from the 99 steps up the hill. On his way back he saw a large iguana in a yard. We returned to wait for the tender at the Disney tent on the dock. I was surprised to find water and fruit punch available for us. That defiantly helped to cool us down from our short trek.

Mike and William went to Topsiders for lunch while Kaitlyn and I changed in the cabin. The guys were ready to get in the pool so we ate lunch then joined them. William met Juliet at the pool and they stayed out all afternoon. The kids rested in the cabin before dinner and both were snoring by 4 pm. We had wanted to go up to the sail away party and decided to do that while checking on the kids every 10 minutes. It worked out great for us. It was nice to enjoy a little fresh air on deck while watching St. Thomas and the other ships docked there slip off into the distance. The horn war was wonderful…since of course noone can compare to The Magic’s horn. Mike and I had our picture taken with Goofy.

We returned to the stateroom to dress for dinner. Once again the kids were dressed in their sleep. The kids all sat at one end of the table in Parrot Cay for dinner. William wouldn’t eat much so I took him to the OC to dance with Snow White. He ate his chicken that night after we got back to the room. I enjoyed rib eye and potato for dinner. I didn’t care for the deserts listed that evening so I told Rudy that I wanted a Mickey Bar. He looked at me so seriously and apologized telling me that he was sorry but they couldn’t serve them to the adults anymore because they would run out of them for the kids. I told him he was teasing me and he just repeated that he was sorry but he couldn’t do that. I shrugged my shoulders and said OK then looked at the menu to select the ice cream sundae. He got a twinkle in his eye and said “Gotcha!” I swear it was already going thru my mind that too many DISers had been requesting Mickey Bars and ruined it for me being able to try one. He even brought extra sprinkles with it and it was fantastic!

After dinner we walked thru the atrium and got in line for what we thought would be Alice. After I checked with the person in front of us, I was very happy to hear that we would be seeing Belle. Kaitlyn gave her a big hug and sat in her lap while Belle talked to her. We then saw Wendy and Captain Hook. Kaitlyn didn’t know what to think of the Captain so he stayed in the background until it was time to pose for the picture. Wendy helped to keep him out of Kaitlyn’s view and he popped up behind her when they took the shot. Snow White was also out by the tree with Dopey after the Who Wants to be a Mousekateer show. After checking out Shutters, Mike took Kaitlyn to the stateroom while I picked up William. We saw Alice and the White Rabbit on Deck 4 when we got in the elevator so he got his picture taken with them on a detour to the room.

Once again we were rocked to sleep by 8-15 foot seas. I enjoyed the ease with which I was able to fall asleep on the ship and the fact that I slept thru the night. Tomorrow would be our last day at sea.

Have already asked DD to order Mickey Bar for Me!LOL
