Hey everyone! :yay:
We decided to visit the parks before the World of Color madness hits on Friday and I just wanted to share some pictures with you all.
All of these photos were taken on 6/9/10.

I was just at DLR a few weeks ago and didn't see this colorful CA sign, so I guess it must be pretty new.

Hollywood all decorated and colored up for Glow Fest, I presume.

This place will definitely not look the same tomorrow night! You can see them testing some of the fountains on the right.

Good luck to everyone who will be there tomorrow, and may the force be with you! :thumbsup2

Awesome photos!!! Thank you so much for sharing. Love, Love, Love the California letters with all those bright colors!!! Would love to see that, however going in Dec., so just hoping they are still up and decorated for Christmas. Hope all that WOC stuff is still going strong in Dec.. Thanks again.:goodvibes[/I]

Usually, the "California" letters are decorated like candy canes during Christmas season...but who knows :)

Great pics, DisneyWhiz. I have a few I was going to post as well. I don't want to pull from your pics though. Would you like me to start a different thread or just add them here so they are all in one place for everyone?

Let me know...

Those letters are supposed to come down - I thought they were due to come down before the holidays this year, but if not, I guess it will be next year. Last year, they didn't even do the candy corn letters like they had been doing the previous years for HalloweenTime, so I figured the letters were about to be taken out for good. But they were there as candy canes for the holidays, and there they are now! Still there!

I do enjoy the fact that they have the colorized letters up for now - even if it is just temporary. To me, it looks so much more vibrant than the old California letters. I also love all the touches of color that have been added to DCA, shown in your photos. Plus, they have added in some wonderful, gorgeous flowers to, I think, the Paradise Park area (another DIS-er, Deejdigsdis, showed a couple of photos of them in another thread). They are really bringing the whole idea of color into DCA in a big way, and I think DCA needed some splashes of color here and there to liven it up.

They are having trouble figuring out how to get guest into the park. at the moment, they want to keep it like that until they re do the front of the park...

That is awesome for me, hopefully that means they will be up for the Christmas season, and yes I do realize that they will be decorated like candy canes for Christmas, I was just saying I hope they are still up at that time but it sounds like they will be.:thumbsup2

What do you mean by this? Figuring out how to get guests into the park??? Huh??? :confused3 I didn't realize there was a problem with that right now.

I think Albort means because in order to work on the letters, they would have to close that area. And that area is the entrance to DCA. So, logically, they would have to find an alternate entrance into the park in order to start construction or demolition in that area. At least, that's what i think he means. I could be wrong, just what I took from it.

Yeah, it wouldn't be logical to have construction going on at the entrance during the park's peak season...they have to have as many turnstiles open as possible!

Wow...the WoC CALIFORNIA sign looks amazing. I was there Memorial Day weekend and they were still a beige/white color then. I love taking pictures of the sign every time I go because it seems to always change (i.e. candy cane colored for Christmas and it was a bright blue a while back). I hope they will stay up until my next trip in August :goodvibes
