I found this story posted on a CM's blog and thought it was very touching. This is one of the reasons why I love Disney so much. Just wanted to share :earsboy:

Yesterday, August 17 we had an amazing moment in Turtletalk with Crush. Crush picked out a cute little guy to talk to and named him Gnarly Nathan. He did his usual dialogue and the boy answered back and had a really good time. His mother came up after the show with tears in her eyes, Nathan is autistic and does not talk. Yesterday he had a conversation. It was with Crush. The host wisely suggested they go to innoventions and talk one on one to stitch.

This is the second time Crush has moved a disabled child to respond. I witnessed a child open his eyes for the first time all day when Crush called his name. His father was also moved to tears. His child responded.

I just wanted everyone to share in the goosebumps that comes with these two stories.

I can believe it. We took my cousin to DL in Aug. He is severly autistic. I have never seen the kid smile so much in his 9 years of life as he did for 3 days in DL. The characters were all so wonderful to him! His smile could light up a room!!!

I love reading these stories. Thank you for sharing.

Wonderful heartwarming story, thanks so much for sharing.

I could have used a tissue alert though... The older I get the weepier I get.

I love this stories. I got to see one once at the Sword in the Stone at MK. It had a lot of adults in the crowd crying to see the young man pull out the sword. It was a true magical moment for everyone.

That's why I love Disney! Pixiedust is always around special people while they are there. :goodvibes

A note to add to my earlier post about my autistic cousin. I spoke to my aunt yesterday and she said that he is still talking about the trip. Colby is 9 and up until his trip to DL he was not potty trained. Imagine diapers for all of that time??? Well when we went to DL with them in Aug we stayed at the DL hotel. We were on our way out and my aunt asked Colby to use the potty. She said that Mickey does not like dirty diapers. He has used the potty every day since then. Disney is truly a magical place!

That is very cool!

I work with adults with a variety of challenges... and my wife works with children affected by Autism. I wish that Disneyland was closer, as I am sure it would work wonders for a lot of people of all ages.

Perhaps one day we will have a "Maple Leaf Disney" here in Canada?

Thanks for sharing the story, and as a previous poster asked, where did you find the CM blogs?

It was just a random online journal/blog I found and the guy mentioned that he worked for Disney in that particular post. :earsboy:
