How Fun! Congrats on going! Did you win it somehow?
You mentioned not standing for WOC - how did you score that? Did they have special seating?
I am looking forward to the new Soarin' glad to hear you liked it. And how fun on the pin Mickey Birthday Pins!
Thanks! It was a nice event! There were multiple ways to win, via KOST 103.5 and KTLA also, there's a thread on here about it. Also, employees who work at certain affiliated Companies with Disney gave out tickets. I got one from a family member who won.
There's an area, as you walk up the back way towards paradise pier, coming from the Grand Californian Hotel, bypassing Under the Sea ride, there are benches located to the slight left. Now, to my understanding, those are normally occupied by the disabled or reserved; not sure. Since this was a private event, hardly anyone was standing/leaning against the rails to watch the show, so people were able to sit down and get a relatively decent view! There were two showings, 9:30 pm and 12:30 am and most people went to the first viewing. The park felt so light, and more open than usual due to the limited guest attendance. The only thing is, this party has been held at
Disneyland in the past. And with all of Paradise pier being shut down for WOC, it felt slightly congested, but no where near the feeling of a 'light' day at the parks. I usually skip WOC because I don't want to stand, so very grateful to not have to pay for a dessert party etc. for a seat.
I really enjoyed Soarin' and regret not riding twice. Wasted most of my time waiting to ride RSR, due to small ride breakdown. By the time, I got off, Soarin' was no longer 15 mins, it was 45. I hope you enjoy it, too!
