DCA rope drop moved

Wow -- So are people able to hang out at the entrances to Soarin' and GRR? Do you go to the right as you enter the park and walk past those two attractions to get to rope drop at Little Mermaid?

I think rope drop locations can vary by day. I've heard of the rope drop being near Mermaid before, but never experienced it. At Disneyland the rope is often at the end of Main Street, but sometimes they let you into the hub and you can wait on either the Tomorrowland or Adventureland side.

ETA: I would love it if I was there on a day they had rope drop all the way be Mermaid. That would definitely help get us on Toy Story faster. Assuming that Toy Story is up and running, as sometimes they're slow with it.

I think you're right -- I actually remember being at the rope at Mermaid once, but can't recall the details of how I got there or anything else. It was a while back. Wouldn't you have to go past the rope at CC to get to the rope at Ariel?

I'm going to have to remember this for Thursday. TSMM will likely be our first ride since I don't think DD wants to go on RSR again so we won't need a fast pass.

I think this is in place of the rope near Soarin'. So you could walk by Soarin' and GRR and then line-up near Mermaid. In theory people could queue for Soarin' and GRR. I wonder if they're running Soarin' before opening again. They used to do that years ago.

Talking to the Guide Castmember they said they have been testing this for the past week.

Here is an image of the area on Monday. Btw they were also giving out World of Color Fastpasses at the new location before the park opened.

They were running Soarin for the Early Magic Hour, but turning away normal day guests.

I wonder if this is to split the crowd between those going to cars land and those going to the pier area.

Thanks for the picture.
Yeah it wouldn't be fair to the EMH guests to let the non EMH guests on the ride before opening. When they did it in the past it was in the years before DCA had EMH.
