Friend went Monday, said DCA was "HOT AND PACKED" I assume it's because of the new ride. I'm going end of the month and was kind of hoping DCA would be quieter if DL was too crowded. Anyone been this week? What are crowd levels? I know I know DL SUMMER CROWDS as usual. But DCA? You mean they actually get crowds? :rolleyes1

thanks

That's not good for us going in mid July. We usually rely on DCA as a reprieve from the DL crowds.

BTW, what's the new ride? I haven't been keeping up.

Yes, believe it or not, DCA does get crowded at times, and there are less attractions over there, so the ques can build up pretty darn fast. MousePlanet had people in the parks yesterday that reported Screamin with a 45 minute wait and using the extended que. And large lines at all the ODV carts.

With TSMM being the new big hit attraction, I would plan for large crowds all summer at DCA. Good for them. . . not so good for you. ;)

Sorry for not keeping up...what's TSMM?

Thanks for the info! Wow...sounds very interesting...

I know crowds are not fun, but this is great news for DCA and may even help thin out crowds at Disneyland since more people will actually want to spend more time in DCA than a couple of hours.

we were there the other day- BUSY BUSY BUSY.

and very hot.

We were there last week. There was a 45 minute wait for California Screamin and Mulholland Madness. We waited about 10 minutes to ride Orange Stinger.

Toy Story Midway Mania, back by Ca Screaming. May actually need Ridemax for DCA!

Hmm, was there on Saturday. Longest wait was Mulholland Madness at about 10 minutes. Go figure. Almost got to ride TSMM, but they closed it down while I was in line. Said they were experiencing technical difficulties. My theory: they have a lot of CM's to train on it, so they shut it down on purpose to review the evac procedure.

Isn't Saturday a black out day for AP folks? Maybe alot of the DCA crowds (on Monday) are locals with APs.....wanting to check out the Toy Story attraction.

If DangerMouse says it rocks, then the AP folks will be there. ::yes::

I agree that a lot of the local S.Cal AP holders probably are probably using up their last few days before being blocked out to check out the new attraction.

Most "locals" with AP's either have the S.Cal or S.Cal Select, which would be blocked out daily for the rest of the summer peak after June 27. Deluxe is blocked on Saturdays, but I don't think that is the most popular pass purchased by locals.

When you goin to ride the bestest new ride ever, Hound?

She's only saying that because she CLAIMS to have beat me by 2000 points, although I still have proof!! Or am I supposed to be vouching for you now, Callie?

I'm penciling in a visit in late September.....probably 2-3 days around the final weekend. Can't wait!

(fwiw, i just got back from playa del carmen, so i'm kind of tripped out..... my 25 y/o daughter got married down there.....i tried to get her to have the wedding at the GCH (:hyper: ) but got over-ruled by the women in the family. :()

Of course we are vouching for each other, Stacie! You repeatedly kicked my butt on Buzz, and I kicked yours on TSMM. After hearing about some of the other scores people have gotten on TSMM, I'm thinking our scores were nuthin to write home about. . . :rolleyes1

Have you found any of the ride thrus on youtube yet? There are a couple good ones that help me relive the fun.

Were you going to pay for it?? Man, my daughters would LOVE to get married there!! I don't think my DH would go for it though :(

I haven't even looked yet, I'll have to go check it out. And I wanna go again!!! (pouting!!) :worried: Maybe August, or October... or both!

I've just been playing Mario Kart every day, you should bring your kids over here to play! Wish we had a pool though!! (pouting again!):worried: :worried:

Whew....I'm glad i was able to go off topic & divert you & Dangermouse from the inevitable cat fight.....:rotfl: :duck:

back to my off topic subject ;)....I gave DD 25 a check. She decided what she wanted to do with it. Turns out Playa for 30 people was alot cheaper than San Antonio or Austin for 150-200. (Everyone paid there own way though).

GCH wasn't on the short list.....son in law is not a fan of "amusement parks". (but of course....we Hounds have ways of converting those who reside on the "dark side". ;))
