DCA entrance from Grand Californian

Hi! Has anyone stayed at Grand Californian lately that could give me feedback on the DCA entrance from the hotel? I’ve been seeing conflicting reviews about how the line gets backed up in the morning.

For Extra Magic Hour, do you find that it’s better to use this entrance or would we be better off going through DTD and main gate?

Our plan is to head right down to Toy Story Mania and if I remember correctly, if we go through the Grand Californian entrance, it’ll be a quicker walk from there to Paradise Pier than starting from the main gate.

We stayed there in April, and we used the DTD entrance for EE daily and we thought it moved quickly. I say, if you can get up early, do it.

We swore that we would never use the DCA entrance in the morning again. It was so long and so SLOW that it would have been better to go to the main gate.

In the morning I would always use the main gate. But throughout the day we never had an issue using the GCH entrance going into DCA.

It doesnt matter which gate. Still gotta wait for the rope drop before rsr.

As for toy story it will be a quicker walk from
Grand cali. Line wont be as long as cars.

I use the main gate if entering the first hour. If you are trying to enter right at the start of EMH, use the main gate regardless of where you are going. After that either gate is fine. But first thing in the AM, have seen the line wrap back thru the Whitewater area, then come back to Storytellers. It can take 15 mins to enter. Main gate is just a couple mins.
