It's been a few years, but I thought the yummy soup/bread bowls at DCA were at La Brea Bakery? Looking at the menus on Allears it looks Pacific Wharf Cafe is where the bread bowls are? Can someone explain? Thanks!

The yummy soup and bread bowls have always been at Pacific warf cafe as far as I know. We eat there everytime.

They have been there as long as I can remember..we love the clam chowder and the shrimp salad.

In case you have a craving at Disneyland, the Harbour Galley next to the Haunted Mansion also sells the bread bowls (clam chowder, broccoli cheese soup, steak gumbo, vegetarian chili) and salads (steak salad and grilled salmon salad). There's never a long line there. My DD and I walked right up last weekend during the lunch hour and bought a bowl...yummy. :)

Just an FYI... :)

Thanks everyone! I could have sworn the wrappers or napkins said La Brea Bakery at the place in California Adventure! Guess it's just been too long!

I think the ones in DCA are from Boudin Bakery, famous for its sourdough bread. They've been using the same sourdough start since the Gold Rush, or something like that. Obviously I was paying really close attention to that video about it I watched in San Fran ;)
Whatever they are, they are good! I love the shrimp louis salad!

wow were you ever lucky....maybe it was the time of day because for me, I usually go after those bread bowls at night and there is never anything BUT a long line...:headache:

...And napkins all say Disney Parks, regardless of where you eat.
Was going to mention this. We love those napkins and you get them at EVERY spot in the parks; no restaurant has their own.

There is a bread bowl only line. It is all the way to the left once in the store, although there's a whole other door and everything. We used that line and door a couple times last year.

Speaking of bread bowls.... does anyone know where to get a couple of those once you get home? Is there a place that sells them like Panera or Beyond Bread?

I have been dying for one ever since getting my first bread bowl this past May.

I know my Safeway carries some of those bowls but they aren't sourdough and I really want sourdough.

Never say never. ;)

Lines at Harbour Galley in DL as long as lines at Pacific Wharf in DCA, in most cases probably not, but I've logged some fairly substantial waits at both places. In fairness I've also walked up when the line was pretty much non existant, in both places. It's all a matter of timing.

I'm a bit unclear about where you're talking about here. I'd love an in for a shorter wait, just have never noticed anything like that.

Very simple to make yourself! Buy a round sourdough load, and basically core it-cut the top off and hollow it out a bit. That's it :)

There is sometimes a bread bowl and/or drinks only line. Larina is correct about where it is located, the register to the far left when facing the counter. When that register is being used that way, there is usually a sign placed nearby to indicate this. They do not always run that register that way though. For example, I was there during two very busy mealtimes last month, lunch and dinner once each, and while that register was open they were using it as normal for all orders.

We're talking about Pacific Wharf Cafe then, yes? If so guess I've never been there when that line was up and running. Thanks for the info. I'll have to keep an eye out next time we're there.

It was an express line both times I was getting soup for my daughter. Learn something new everyday. Guess I was lucky!

In all the times I've passed by and purchased from the Harbour Galley, I've not (notice I didn't say never) seen a line as long as the Pacific Wharf at DCA is on a regular basis. Guess my timing is better than some others... ;)
