I know for Dlanders, for decades there was always a question which side people liked or spent more time in?
Was it the east side with more fantasy appeal like Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Toontown?
Or the west side with more rugged and exotic areas of NOS, Adventurland, Frontierland and Critter Country?
I think over the years, more people have really embraced the west side more since TL has fallen a lot by the wayside and the west side does have some of the best and thrilling attractions in the park...and thats where F! is lol.
But east side still has quite a bit going for it, especially if you are a kid, have kids or just love a bit more fantasy. And of course it has a few thrill rides on its own with Matterhorn, ST and SM!
That said, for me hands down, the west side of DL, especially at night!
But now that DCA is finally developing into a true Disney theme park and has gotten quite a bit of great attractions over the years and with CL and BVS on its way, I guess now that question can be asked there as well.
And I think unlike DL, where each side feels very different from the other, DCA will have a lot more mixture of fantasy, kids attractions, thrills and rugged locations.
On the east side of the park, you will have Hollywoodland, A Bugs land and Carsland (or home of the 'lands' lol). Pacific Wharf is included too, but no attractions! But with that comes TOT, RSR, Animation stuido, Aladdin, a nice size of kid attractions in Bugs land and HL and all the 3D films. And you have the dance parties at night! Not bad!
On the west side, you will have Condoor Flats, GRR and Paradise Pier! In some ways, it actually has about the same number of attractions and still some of the strongest stuff in the park. Thrill rides like GRR, GSS and Screamin, but also a lot of good solid family E-D tickets: TLM, TSM and Soarin. And quite a bit of things for kids as well: Redwood Challenge and several PP attractions like the carousel, fun wheel, swings, Jumpin Jellyfish, etc. And of course WOC which is now the crown jewel of PP!
Writing this I realize each side have a really good mix of attractions, shows, fantasy and themes. So not bad and makes it hard to know where people will spend time more in lol. Obviously when CL open, everyone will be there, but I'm talking a year from now when things have calmed down.
I think for me, I will ULTIMATELY spend most of my time on the west side, especially at night because PP has just become a fun place to hang out in and I love the night time vibe! But with CL, who knows? It will give it a run for its money based on the pics alone, but ouside of RSR, I dont see myself riding much else there.
So what about others? Do you see yourself more on the east side or west! Love to hear your answers and why!
