I am so angry...
God Bless this Guard and his family!

My DD's and I just had a wonderful weekend in DC and it is such a beautiful city...

Wow, I hadn't heard this.

I do know that two days ago, right outside of my workplace in DC, there was an murder suspect running from the police, some shots were fired by the police and the guy ended up shooting himself in the parking lot.

Was this where the guard was shot?

the holocaust museum.

I was in DC Friday night , Sat. , Sun. And Monday. Where do you work?

Ah, It is hard to believe that it happened, the city was quiet (busy but quiet ) when I was there.

The Guard was a hero and the shooter a neo-nazi coward....

The guard had worked at the museum for 6 years. This is just so sad.

I live in DC and was at the Natural History museum with my kids this morning right before this happened. I was shocked and saddened to hear about this. Yes, I certainly know that my city is not crime free, but really, to shoot a poor security guard is senseless. It really is a shame that this had to happen. They brought both the victim and gunman to GW Hospital, where my husband works, and when I found out that the poor guard had died, while this gunman lives on, I was incensed. That poor man, trying to work and earn a living and he gets gunned down.

This is just so sad, and does make me angry...it wasn't just random.. the shooter (in critical condition, 88 year old man) had an agenda. In my mind it was suicide for him knowing he would not get past the medal detectors with his weapon. I've never wished ill on anyone, but....:mad:I will not be well wishing him either!
The security guard is a true hero and I thank him and all others for keeping the rest of us safe everyday. They know what they take on everyday doing their job.

I take this to heart... My DD wrote a paper about her experience visiting the Holocaust Museum and it made it as a finalist to a state writing competition. She never know about the Holocaust until she visited.

I keep the guard and his family in my prayers...

Honestly, the metal detectors, I walked right through them today with my camera, cell phone, wallet, and keys in my pockets. Nothing went off. And I offered my camera bag to security to be searched and they waved me right on through. I guess that will all be changing now.

The shooter is apparently still in surgery. At his age I wouldn't have thought he'd be so sturdy, but seems I'm wrong.
