I don't understand. I'm trying to get a car for a cheap as possible. (thanks, mary, for the codes) I tried alamo w/o a code and it came up to $103 as a base rate. I put the DC code in and the base rate jumped to $123. What is going on?

On a side note: I have a car reserved at Avis for $97 w/tax for 5 days, but that is using a $50 GC. National wants $110 w/tax, so that brings my gc's worth down to $13.

each rate code has it's own rate. In this case, Alamo may be runnning a special without a code and they have set the price with DC's rate code. It happens all the time, you should see what a government rate is!!!!
I guess now we know why we share information and keep trying different rates, right? :)
