I know Daytona USA isn't an Orlando attraction, but has anyone ever been there. My husband is a NASCAR fan and I was wondering if this would be a worthwhile side trip to make. We would go on Feb. 15 and with the Daytona 500 race being held on Feb. 20, I imagine it will be crowded. I did do a little research on-line at daytonausa.com, but the information they had on there was for 2004 admission prices and events.

If anyone can shed some light on current pricing and their experience going there, I be grateful.

Thanks,
Janie :D

We went a couple years ago.Good place to spend a few hours, lots of track history and interactive things, like pit stops. If the track is not in use, there is a track tour also. I'd reccomend it for NASCAR fans, probably not for anyone else. Oh, the winning car from the Daytona 500 has to stay on display there for the whole year.

If your husband is a NASCAR fan he will enjoy Daytona USA. Be sure to ride the simulator that is like riding in a race car. We enjoyed the tour around the track. You just don't realize how high the banking is on the track.

We were just there last Friday. DH is a Nascar fan and we had a blast. Don't forget to see the IMAX movie - I think that (in addition to the track tour) was DH's favorite part.

Have fun!

From what you all said, it sounds like my husband will have a great time and I'm sure we'll go. Just one more question. Since we're not familiar with Daytona, did you have any problems getting there or problems with parking?

Thanks again,
Janie :D

Its right off I 4, Coming from Disney, you go by the track first so very hard to miss. You go in just like your going to a race, so if something is going on your in a crowd, but then the Daytona USA parking lot is off to the side, so you get away from the crowd.

Thanks again for the information. The people on the Disney Boards are the best!

If you plan to go down for the day you may be interested in stopping at Race Rock for lunch, we stopped the first time down and had a blast great atmosphere, I believe they have a website to check out.
