We are driving into florida from new england, and want to stay in Daytona or somewhere close to it for one night before we check into CS. DS3 just loves the beach. We want to be only an hour from WDW for check in the next day. Any recommendations on hotels?

I don't make it over to Daytona often, considering I'm from Florida and have a choice:) but the last time we went we stayed at the Plaza Ocean Club. Decent hotel, clean rooms, right on the beach. Decent hotels in Daytona are hard to come by...

Thanks for the input, cocoa beach is an hour more south, we want to stop at a beach on the way but not past WDW, could you recommend another? I just want a clean place to sleep after a23 hour drive and an ocean view to give mt ds3 something great to wake up too.

The plaza ocean club is very nice and clean. My son stayed there this past April and sent us lots of pics.

We stayed at BH last year and are returning for 4 nites this year before we check into WH. The Trip Advisor reviews are absolutely true! This is a very family friendly small hotel, right on the beach. TIP: book an OceanFront room if you want a direct view of the beach. OceanView is from the side of the hotel and is somewhat obstructed. We loved the free continental breakfast and free cocktail hour and the pool is heated. The staff are so amazing! We talked to guests who stay there every year and I now understand why. We like the oceanview efficiencies, as it gives us a full size fridge, microwave and stovetop. Everything is topnotch and very clean! This is not a party hotel, but you can walk the beautiful beach to the boardwalk, if you are looking for bars and restaurants.

We have stayed here too and found it was exactly as pictured on their website. Rooms were clean and large-ours had kitchen area and we had a balcony oceanfront. Breakfast was included and there was happy hour with free snacks and drinks. There was a nice pool/hot tub and our favourite spot -the lounges on sundeck overlooking the ocean.
