We will be heading to Dayton for a Percussion competition for my DS14, mid-April.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a nice, clean hotel with a pool for 4 of us.

We need to be somewhat near to the Notter Center and the UD Arena.

Thank you!

Hopefully, someone comes along who is familiar with the Dayton area.

When I am unfamiliar with a city, I look for a Hampton Inn. I have never been disappointed with the condition and cleanliness of their hotels. ie. SC and FL

We are actually going to Dayton tonight and staying at the Dayton Marriott. It is right at UD, has a pool and we got a great weekend rate with free breakfast. If there is a big event at UD when you are going the Marriott might already be full, if so, you might want to check out the Drury Inn or Courtyard. They are a little farther away, but are nice and have pools.

The Courtyard is on campus adjacent to the arena, if I remember correctly.

I actually live just north of Dayton :)

The above mentioned hotels would all be my first choice as well. Nutter Center and U.D. arena are about 15 minutes apart. Really nice mall right by Nutter Center called Fairfield Commons. Also a very nice outdoor shopping mall about 5 minutes way called the Greene. Plenty of restaurants around both areas as well.

U.D. arena isn't in the best area..it's almost downtown Dayton. Not much right around there either.

Nothing is within walking distance of either venue...major highways all around. So you'll have to drive to shop, eat, etc. My dd is drum major so we'll be going to some of the performances as well! :goodvibes

Anything near Fairfield Commons or the Nutter Center should be fine.

It is a good, safe area with lots to do.

Do not go all the way to the Marriott at Univ of Dayton. There is nothing there and it is probably a 15 minute drive.

I live just south of there and you will be fine at any of the hotels right there at the Nutter center area!

Enjoy

I would stay clear of Downtown Dayton and UD! Go closer to the Nutter Center and Beavercreek area. There are tons of hotels near the Nutter and Fairfield Commons mall that are newer and clean, and shouldn't be too expensive.

Hey! That's my old stomping ground! There are a few really nice Marriott's around the Fairfield Commons Mall. When doing a search, look for Beavercreek, OH. The mall is less than 5 minutes to the Nutter Center. There are several interstates close by that will get you over to UD Arena. I would definitely stay away from anything closer to Dayton itself.

The other option you have is to stay over on Miller Lane. Again, there are several Marriott's. This is near the I-70 and I-75 interchange. If you do a search for Dayton, look to the north side and you should find these. These hotels would be about 20-25 minutes from both the Nutter Center and UD Arena.

Are you going for WGI? I use to make yearly trips to it when i was a performer in a group that competed there. I would recommend staying near the nutter center. Having the mall and other businesses right there was a lot more easier than around UD arena.

We are goung to the WGI Finals. It should be fun! This is our first year.

I will look into the recommendations around the Nutter Center. Thanks!

We arejust North of Dayton as well, Beavercreek area or Fairfield commons mall is the closest to the Nutter Center, right off I 675. Also further south on 675 towards Centerville is not a bad drive either.

I know there are a bunch of nice hotels right across from Wright State, which is what Nutter Center is attached to.

Best of Luck!
