We are currently booked there but because of all the bad reviews we are probably going to cancel. I also read a thread where people were confusing this place with another Days Inn down the road. Anyone recently stay there? Any and all feedback is welcome. Thanks!

BTW-we are also booked at the Country Inn in LBV as a result till we decide. Anyone know these 2 that can compare?

Pretty much ALL the Days Inn's in Florida are the pits. I would not stay there based on what I have read

I stayed here and wouldn't again if they paid me!!

First, I have not stayed at the Days Suites. I have stayed twice at the Days Inn Maingate East (right next door) in the last 15 months. The Days Inn that gets down right awful reviews is the one up the road about 3/4 mile. It is known as the Days Inn Maingate-- the East is what sets them apart. As far as the Days Inn Maingate East and the Days Suites-- they are owned by the same people-- you can share pools at these 2 hotels and such. Like I said we stayed at the Days Inn-- The first time was 4/02 got an internet rate of $19.99 a night. Had a great pool view room and really found nothing wrong with the hotel. Our most recent stay was 2/03. Had another decent rate of $32.99 a night. The room was a little run down (but clean) and we were in a high foot traffice area that was really noisy. So, we've had one good stay and one so-so stay. I wouldn't call it terrible by any means.

As for the Days Suites, some people around here say they aren't all that bad, especially for the price. Some people swear by them, I have seen them post they are great. I have also seen the nay-sayers who have been downright appalled. I think it all depends on what your expectations are. We sleep at the hotel and aren't in our room for many hours as it is, especially in Orlando. Unfortunately I can't reasonably spend $100+ a night. Therefore, we are looking for a clean room, bathroom, and pool for a great rate. This hotel fit the bill. Each time our room and the pool were clean.

The area by Old Town can be really noisy at night, especially on the weekends. However, on the other hand, Old Town is great to go to at night. If we only go to a park for 1/2 day, Old Town is nice to walk around after dinner. We also really like this area to stay in. Lots of nice places to eat and shop. It is easy to get around (lots of signals) and it is a straight, quick shot to Disney.

As for the Country Inn-- have never stayed there. However, I have looked at them for our next upcomming trip in October-- found a great rate for the Calypso Cay Country Inn on Hotelkingdom.com.

By the way, sorry so long.

If you are just looking for somewhere clean and reasonable try the Howard Johnson Maingate East...

We stayed at the suites and I cried when we opened the door. It was just so dirty looking. A friend of mine just came back from there and said she can see why they are so run down, apparently the group of paint ball people she went destroyed the rooms. Much to her disgust they had pizza from end to end on the floor and had ripped the T.V of the stand.

msdis - I also read the negative reviews before our last trip but booked there anyway. One month before my trip, one of my employees stayed there and came back very pleased so I stuck with it. We spent 7 nites there in November 2002 and were very satisfied.

The suites are huge - easily the largest suite I've had anywhere (and we almost always stay in a suite-type hotel when we travel. The suite has a living room with a sofa, 2 end-tables and a TV on a chest of drawers. There is a fold-down Murphy bed.

The kitchen has table and chairs for 4, a full-size refrigerator/freezer, sink, stove, microwave, dishwasher (can't recall if there is an oven).

Bedroom has 2 double beds and a sink/make-up counter and adequate closet space.

The room was clean but did show its age - furniture was a bit worn, a couple of kitchen cabinet doors were missing handles...stuff like that. Nothing that we considered all that major considering the price. Front desk service and housekeeping were both very good. We had a couple of minor problems during our stay and both were corrected literally within 10 minutes of calling the front desk.

As for Old Town noise, I was concerned about that prior to our arrival. I requested a room facing away from Old Town and that is what we got. Noise was absolutely not a problem. On Friday and Saturday nites, parking is a bit of a pain because a lot of visitors to Old Town park in the hotel lot, but again, it really wasn't a big deal.

If you are looking for glamour, go somewhere else. If you are looking for plenty of space, decent clean accomodations and a great price, I would ignore the negatives and stay there. We paid $39.95/nite which included about $40 worth of "free" Old Town ride tickets. Depending on when you are going, they even have a package that includes unlimited Old Town ride passes. Check their website at thhotels.com.

Request buildings J thru T as they are farther away from Old Town. We were in J and that was right in the middle of the complex - close enough to just walk across the street to Old Town but far enough not to be bothered by the noise.
