Days of week crowd data - still applicable?

We can't trust the crowd calendars in this crazy time...but now that I have to lock in which park I'm going to on which day, is there any data on which days of the week are highest for which park? I'm planning on spending 7 days at Disney - arriving Saturday, leaving the following Saturday. We'd like to do 2 days at MK, 1 at AK, 1 at HS -- with the rest as resort time. I'm trying to figure out what days to reserve what.

Am I better off with MK on Monday and HS on Sunday, or are the weekends still high at MK & HS? Does day of week crowd data still apply or is everything out the window?

FWIW, Touringplans has started making predictions again. They rate the busiest days (Labor Day weekend) at Level 3/4 (on a scale of 1 to 10) and mostly everything else is a 1, so I think it probably doesn't matter. Still, it's hard to break old planning habits: I chose to put AK and Epcot on my Saturday and Sunday that I'll be there Columbus Day weekend with the idea that MK and HS might be slightly busier those days. Of course, we have no idea what plans Disney has to increase capacities, so it's all subject to change. Maybe just go with the order in which you wold like to experience the parks; we like to spend our last day at MK.

I had a similar worry planning our park days post-Labor Day and chose Tuesday for MK and Wednesday for HS thinking those were the least likely days to still be attracting crowds. Thursday is for UO and Friday for Epcot for this reason. But, as stated above, with capacity limits and lower-than-expected attendance it seems any day is a good day for crowds...

Depending on your ticket group, HS has a tendency to be unavailable on weekends due to popularity. Otherwise I think it's luck of the draw for how many folks reserved and did or didn't show up.

We're also planning Columbus day weekend! I never thought crowds would be low enough for us to attend then and It's just hard to imagine that I don't need to worry about weekend crowds for some parks.

The whole point of the lower capacities is to avoid crowding in the parks. I would just book the parks on whatever days you want to go.

If you are using APs, the parks are currently booking out on the weekends, so you'll want to make those reservations as soon as possible. If you can't book a day right away, just keep trying. I've been able to make park reservations eventually for dates that were initially booked full.

Our touring plan for these crazy times is to do a split stay and then go to the parks by where we are staying. We are trying to reduce our bus time as much as possible.

We're driving to the parks for the first time ever, and taking our own car from park to park. No super cooled Disney buses this trip. :_(

From what I have heard, the crowds are super low. Having said that, two rules seem to apply:
The parks are busier on the weekends
DHS is busier than the rest

Based on that info, for our trip next week, I booked AK this Sunday, and next Saturday, and I booked DHS Monday and Thursday. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and let you all know how we do…

I am curious, DVC and AP holder here. I will be activating my AP this weekend. I have been able to make park reservations for this trip, and another on-site weekend in October. Was looking at going for Labor Day weekend.

Would not normally due to kids and school, but this year may be our chance. I have an off-site hotel booked.

I cannot make park reservations for that trip since my AP is not yet active. Hope to do so after activated this weekend.

Curious, have any AP holders not been able to make any park reservation? I realize that DHS may not be available, but has anyone not been able to make a reservation at ANY park? Curious if that is the situation, and what does Disney say if that does happen?

If everything was booked for AP, there isn't anything they could do about it. They are locked into capacity restrictions. Best option would be to keep watching for something to open up, whether that be from folks changing their minds or Disney re-arranging ticket pools.

If you could make park reservations because of your linked AP confirmation for this weekend and October, you could do it for Labor Day, too. It has nothing to do with whether it is activated or not.

The only limitation is that if your stay this weekend is offsite, you are limited to 3 days total outside of eligible resort stays. That is not a factor of whether the pass is activated or not. If that is the case, you won't be able to book days for the Labor Day weekend until you use them this coming weekend.

My trip next week and in October are both on-site. No issues making reservations for either trip.

My thought was adding an off-site trip for Labor Day. I have been told I cannot make any non-onsite reservations until my AP is activated. From my attempts to make reservations at other times, that does appear to be the case. I will try again after my AP is activated this weekend.

My ask was more about I have heard AP holders say they could not get a reservation for a particular park (mostly DHS), and they they have not been able to get more than 3 days. But I have not heard anyone yet say they were completely locked out of all four parks at the same time. Was wondering if anyone has run into that situation.

Who told you that? It is not true. It is the same whether you have a resort reservation or not. If you have a valid AP confirmation linked to your MDE account, you can book parks up to the allowed limit. If you have not tried recently, try again. When the system was first rolled out, it was either/or for APs. But now they can book the 3 days in addition to days for all eligible resort stays.

And yes, DHS can be difficult to book for APs. But with persistence, many are able to find a spot, even when the availability calendar is showing no openings.

Thanks, will give it a shot. My wife was told that on a call with Disney, but that was a while ago when the systems first opened up.

FWIW spent the week at the parks (July 20-24] . Crowds ”felt” less on Monday and Tuesday With exception of EPCOT (was dead). Wednesday- Friday parks were busier but still mostly empty. Disney springs was busy during dinner time especially with parks closing early.

EPCOT seemed pretty busy today (a Saturday). We didn't get there until 4 pm, and there were people everywhere. Granted, the lines weren't very long for food booths, but the amount of people around on walkways and eating to the sides felt "normal" or only "slightly lower than normal." Frozen was a 45 minute wait when we walked by, so we skipped that. I'm starting to wonder if Disney increased capacity? This isn't the lack of crowds others have been showing in the last few weeks...
