this rates as two stars plus, has anyone stayed here? We are booked at the end of this month for 3 nights. Is it far to cab to the beach area or different restaurants in the area? Thanks

I don't know anything about it either but we have reservations for the first week of June there. I did change and booked our room in the business room because from the reviews I read those are newer and nicer rooms. I would also like to hear anyone elses thoughts on the place.

The Hotel Circle area and Mission Valley/Fashion Valley have a TON of great restaurants that would be very close for you to take a cab to. I looked at a map and it appears that Days Inn is across the freeway from Fashion Valley, so you wouldn't really be able to walk, but at the Fashion Valley mall, there is a Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Chang's.

Down the road just a couple of minutes is Mission Valley, which has Gordon Biersch (brewery and restaurant), Seau's, Bennigan's, King's Fish House, and a lot more.

You will also be pretty close to Old Town San Diego, which is definitely worth spending some time in - to walk around, do some shopping, and eat at any of the great restaurants there.

SeaWorld is really not far at all from there.

Have a great time!

We just spent 2 nights there. It was okay if you are not planning on spending tons of time in the room. They have shuttle service to the zoo and sea world which we used. Rooms are a little old but fairly clean. Our shower backed up but they fixed it first thing in the morning for us. The little cafe on site is not the best. A bit greasy. We ate breakfast there. The next day we went to the Valley Kitchen just a few hotels down and had much better food and service. More of a selection.

Also there is construction at a hotel right next door. Do not get a room facing this hotel as they start at like 7am in the morning and its pretty loud. They are gutting the inside and have a shoot going into a trash bin and throw all the insides of the building down this and it woke us up. I believe that it the side facing westbound.

Other than that it was okay. We got AAA rates so it was a bit cheaper. We really only used it to sleep and shower. Don't know how clean the pool was. They said it was heated but we never checked it out.

If you need anything else let me know.

Did you stay in the older part or the hotel part? Just wondering. We have reservations in the Business class rooms which are supposed to be in a building with indoor access and are newer.

We stayed in a basic room so I guess that would be the older part. Not sure where the newer part was. There is no indoor access from the lobby but there was a building behind ours that might have been newer. Not sure on that. They also shut down the elevator and we were on the second floor and said nothing about it. We went down the elevator and when it opened it had caution tape across it. Well needless to say my husband moved it up as we had 3 bags of luggage and were not about to go down the stairs with them and our daughter. We made our complaint to the front desk on that. They were making no attempt to block off the other floors and the guy working on them got mad that husband ruined his tape. Oh well not our problem. Other than that it was okay.
