This is my very first post!! I've been lurking for a couple of months now. We are thinking of going to WDW for our first time in November or December 2008. I have a question about daybeds. I noticed that some of the resorts have a King size bed with a daybed option. I looked at the pictures and it looked more like a futon to me. We will be traveling with a 2 and 4 year old. I can't image my husband and I sleeping in a double bed together! A queen is a little better. So, my question, is the day bed something that a 2 and 4 year old could sleep in together...or is it meant just to be a bed for 1 child. I am lokoing at staying either at Port Orleans, Animal Kingdom, or Wilderness Logde. Thanks...I plan on posting many more question in the future!

First of all welcome!
We had the day bed at the Poly in July. It is about the size of a twin bed but a little shorter. My 7 year slept on it. I slept with the 5 year old in the one bed and then my husband had the other to himself. We stayed at POFQ Nov. of 2006 and had the two double beds. They did seem larger then a double bed to be. I've read others saying the same thing.

Welcome to the Boards. We stay at the GF and the day bed was big enough for my brother in law. The room that we get has two queens and a day bed and we usually use it for our luggage as there are only three of us. I am sure there will be other posters on here that will be able to answer your question much better with regard to the resorts that you are looking at. Happy planning.

I've heard of day beds in rooms with two queens, but never in a room with a single king sized bed. Most of the time rooms with king sized beds only sleep two people and maybe one child under the age of three in a pack and play. Except for DVC villas with king sized beds in the master bedroom.

There were two queen beds, and one day bed in our room at the Polynesian this past summer. I don't think two kids could sleep on the daybed. You would be better off with one on a queen and the other on the daybed. :)

if you are considering AKL or WL you might want to consider a bunkbed room as it has a set of bunks and a queen... i cannot imagine two kids sleeping in a daybed, one would be sure to fall out!
