Our first full day at Disney World! :sunny: I slept awful and woke up VERY early in the morning unable to go back to sleep (which is no big surprise there!). On Disney trips, I run purely on adrenline (and coffee!) Today was the day we were planning on meeting Deba, Gamebot, Tinkergurl, and Mintchip at Animal Kingdom, but they called first thing in the morning to say they were going to take advantage of the extra magic hours at MK instead. Which was fine, we still had dinner plans with them that evening to meet up... And we also had plans to meet up with my baby sister, Amanda (Palmnut on DIS/VMK) at 9:00 at AK.

As soon as we arrived at AK, I called Amanda to let her know we were there. She was already inside the park waiting for us (shock!). I first stopped by a cart to purchase leopard Mickey ears for the two sisters to wear :goodvibes and then met up with Amanda who I hadn't seen since November  We decided to head straight for Expedition Everest even though Amanda was quite scared of riding it, but being the nice big sister that I am, I told her that she HAD to ride it, so quit the whining... LOL! As we were walking through the park, Lovethattink called me on my cell phone. She had just arrived and wanted to meet up for a ride on Everest. We met up with her at the fast pass machine at Everest (she recognized me, I had no idea what she looked like! She was a blonde wearing a pink shirt - I loved her already!) :) We all grabbed fast passes and then hopped into the standby line. I also got the chance to meet Soarincutie who was working Everest that day. :wave2: Now I purposely did not read any threads about this ride because I wanted to be surprised. Wow!! I knew it went backwards, but I didn't expect it to be so fast and so long! The ride was so much better than we could have imagined, even though I was dizzy getting off. Of course, that didn't stop me from jumping right on it again with DH and Lovethattink's husband (he had picked up baby swap passes since they had their 2 yo with them). I never learn my lesson! At least Amanda was smart and did not ride again. DH and I even rode it a THIRD time - now I'm really feeling  But we had that FREE Everest photo certificate from Yeti Vision so I wanted a good picture of us riding! Naturally, I didn't like any of the pics (so hard to get a good pic when your hair is flying and your mouth is open!) After Everest, we spent some time walking around the trails looking at the tigers (and trying to settle my stomach, lol). Saw It's Tough to be a Bug (we split up with Lovethattink at this point since her 2 yo doesn't like it).

We met up with Lovethattink and her family for lunch afterwards at Flametree Barbeque (used 2 more counter service credits). Hmmm... I'm trying to remember what I ordered.... Oh, I got the b'bque chicken salad with key lime pie, and DH ordered the b'bque chicken with chocolate cake. Totally stuffed, but the food made my stomach less queasy, so I was ready for another ride! :)

Even though it seemed there were lots of people around, the lines at the attractions were not bad at all. We managed to go on the Safari (taking lots of pictures of FLAT Pink and Blue for the VMK Board) and Dinosaur. Then we headed out of the park around 2:00ish so I could get back and shower and change before our dinner that evening.

Back to the room, while I showered, DH downloaded our pictures onto our laptop (very important as you will find out later...)

We met up with Deba and her family at Cape May Buffet at 5:30 pm and had a WONDERFUL time with them. It was great to finally meet Gamebot face to face since I hear his voice over our computer every single day (he's like my 4th son) It's a shame they live so far away from us. I think our two families would become very very close. :( We decided to save our table service credits for more expensive dinners and pay cash for this one. Total was $52 (using DDE)

After dinner, DH and I quickly headed over to MGM for a couple of rides on Tower of Terror. My most favorite ride of all at Disney! (Can you believe I once was so scared of this ride and actually CRIED my first time riding it?!) Now I could ride it all day long!

We skipped Fantasmic (gasp!) and headed back to the resort. This was a vacation without our boys so we organized it a little different :) Fantasmic is for when the kids are with us. The hammock on the beach under the stars at CBR is for when we have no kids with us... :)
