Day trip to Miami...

Hi, my friend and I are interested in spending a day visiting Miami, specifically South beach, we can't hire a car unfortunately so I'm trying to figure out the best way of getting there. I know Orlando-Tours do day trips from Orlando to Miami, which sounds good, but I'd rather go at my own pace if you know what I mean. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks.

Grayline bus do day trips go to web site to see if its what you want Amtrak also but onlty 2 trains daily not sure times.

Amtrak isn't an option - the times just aren't convenient (I've looked into it for a one-way a couple of time and even that doesn't work out, let alone having to go there and back in a day). The high-speed (220mph) rail link will be the way to go eventually, but the Orlando-Miami section won't be completed for a few years yet. It's a long way for a day-trip (8 hour round trip in a car, goodness know how long on a tour bus), but obviously people do it.

Leave Orlando about 7am and back around 11:30pm. The day consists of shopping and then time at South beach which is what we would be doing anyway. I'll probably go for this
