2nd day in the parks meant MGM. Got to the bus stop around 8 and to the gates at MGM with no problem. Security was no problem again.....you're held up for 30 seconds at best. The lines at the gates were long, and the clouds were getting darker by the minute. It sprinkled just a bit while we were waiting at the gates, but that soon passed. They opened the gates a bit early and we got in and waited at the rope by the Sorcerer's Hat. Was able to get some pretty good pictures without a lot of people around. At rope drop I went straight to Little Mermaid for a FP and then to the Great Movie Ride. Wanted to do One Man's Dream, but they were having electrical problems so we went to Starring Rolls Bakery for a Moon Pie - YUM! Back to Little Mermaid and then on to the Animation Tour. This was just a day before Lilo & Stitch opened so they were pushing that quite heavily. I just absolutely love the shop at the end of this tour, so I had to spend way to much time & money in there too! Next stop was Beauty and the Beast by the time we got to the first show it was standing room only so we opted for the 11 o'clock show. Just after we got under cover the skies opened up and the rain began. We sat and waited and just before Four for a Dollar was about to go on, the Stage Manager came on and said they were having difficulties beyond his control and that the show may be cancelled, but he would know for sure after Four for a Dollar was done. Well, they did their show, great as usual, and the Stage Manager came back up and said the Show was cancelled by the cast was assembled behind the curtain for a photograph opportunity. Oh well, we'd try to catch this one later. Headed off to One Man's Dream which was now open. This was a great exhibit and I really enjoyed the movie after it. Then on to get FP's for Millionaire and then on to the Backlot Tour. Mind you this was all during Torrential rains. I had bought Poncho's at the dollar store before the trip, but DH was WAY to cool to wear them so I bought just enough for me. Well during the Backlot tour the rain just poured in the tram like crazy and as soon as we were done....next stop was to get DH a yellow Poncho
Then to use the FP at Millionaire. I was #2 on the ratings board at one point in the game which was a rush! So much fun.....especially to see jealous DH! We wandered around the park a bit and had a pretzel at the food place by the Honey I shrunk the kids Playground (mainly to get out of the rain) Went to watch the Muppet Vision 3D & Indy shows (where I was able to wring the water out of my socks) and then on to Sounds Dangerous (ah, another dry haven). After that we headed back over to Beauty and the Beast and was able to catch a show. By this time DH was ready to go back to ASMu. The afternoon parade had been cancelled, and it had been pouring since about 11. We were thoroughly soaked despite the Ponchos. I convinced him to stay for our Mama Melrose PS's and said if it was still raining after that we'd leave, as there would be little hope for Fantasmic being shown. Well, we finished our meal around 8:10 and it had nearly stopped raining so we decided to head over to the Fantasmic theater to see if it was still showing and if there were any seats left. So, by the time we got over there it was nearly 8:20 and I figured we'd get terrible seats, if any at all. Surprise! Walked right in and sat 8 rows back just at the edge of the Pocahontas / Mickey sections! We could have been closer if we would have wanted to, but I found a few rows back to be nicer on our last trip. We had wonderful, unobstructed views for the show. As more and more people realized the show was going to be held (barring further downpours) more and more seats filled up and the theater finally filled up with just minutes until showtime. Fantasmic was an excellent show as always! The wind picked up during the show so even at 8 rows back, we really got wet due to the water screens. On our way out, we headed back to the shop at the end of the Animation tour. There was nearly no one in the park and CM's were reminding people about the late Fantasmic, I don't think they figured on big crowds due to the weather. After a few more shops it was back to the buses for tomorrow (Day 1 at Epcot)
