11/1

Up too early and enjoyed the breakfast buffet at RPR. We got a table outside to enjoy the weather. The buffet, besides the usual, had excellent cinnamon rolls, an omelet bar, and salmon (YUM - I love salmon!).

Instead of using Express Check-out, I had to deal with a clerk because of a mini-bar charge. Apparently they ASSUME you will use the big bottle of water for the big price that they offer you, but as I told the clerk "As soon as DH saw the price on that puppy, he said there was no way he was touching it!". She subtracted the charge. (I was of course thinking "Disney wouldn't have charged us...")

Drove over to WDW and checked in at VWL, but the only studio currently available was smoking-optional, so we chose to wait. Got to MGM about 10 and managed to get the scooter back together with no problems.

Walked into Sounds Dangerous, then did Star Tours (I had remembered my Bonine again and did NOT get sick like normal on these types of rides), and Muppet 3D. It was then time for some Mickey Bars (YUM) as we waited for Indiana Jones. I had purchased a cane for DH which included a fold-out seat, and that came in handy for the lines.

After IJ, we headed off towards PTC. It looked packed (and we had no PS), but I inquired and was told that a party of 2 could be seated immediately. (This was at 12:30 - if we had a larger party, 2:30 would have been the next seating.) I had the chicken ceasar salad and DH got the smoked turkey sandwhich. Neither of us could finish our meals (and got shamed for it), but we did somehow manage to find room to get a PBJ to go. Oh, YUM, YUM, YUM!

We then went through the Haunted Mansion by mistake. I THOUGHT we were standing in line for WDOMD, but it was right beside it. HM was incredibly boring, made all the more so by my irritation at having stood in line for the wrong thing. We did enjoy WDOMD when we finally got into it!

Decided to take a break and went back to VWL and settled into our room. The bellhop took our picture, so he got an extra tip. I made sure to point out the 2 square inches that we "own".

About 5 we headed back over to MGM to get settled in for Fantasmic! We got the chicken wraps there and should have split them. We don't have small appetites, but the heat was making us less hungry and these were huge! Both food huts were open, but no one was using the far one so I was able to get in and out quickly. Picked up a pop at a little stand and the kid manning the stand saw my DVC t-shirt and welcomed me home! I loved that.

Left just a minute or so early from Fantasmic so we didn't have to fight the crowds with the scooter. Once back at VWL I went off to Whispering Canyon to get a piece of cake to go (and talked myself into a smoothie, as well) while DH went to the work-out room for a bit. (We did split the cake and smoothie, by the way.)

Fell into fitful sleeps about 9 again.

Woke up with a stiff neck with our wakeup call. I let DH answer it so he could hear Mickey - he picked it up, heard music, and slammed it back down before Mickey could get a word out. I was crushed. :(

Went down to Roaring Forks for breakfast (had the pizza, and it was very good). As we left, DH's scooter completely stopped. Called in to Randy's again, and got an attitude from whoever answered. DH told them to come get it (pretty grumpy about it) and we took off for the MK anyway. It was EMH so I hoped we could still get a scooter there for him.

Got there about 8:30 in rain. Got our ponchos out and did manage to snag a scooter, and some nice lady came out and wiped off the seat. It was clearing by the time we got on our way and headed off to Buzz, TTA, Winnie, then Philharmagic. Everything else was open by then, so we hit HM, HOP, POC, and back to TimeKeeper, which opened at 10. (About 9:30 or so Randy's called as they were picking up the scooter and wanted to bring us another (not sure where it came from, since before Monday had been the earliest), but since we had already paid for this one, DH told them to just keep it. That attitude business had really ticked him off earlier.)

It was getting pretty warm by then (and lack of sleep and heat are a lethal combination for me - can you say -itch???), so we headed back "home". Used one of my lunch vouchers for Roaring Forks and we split chicken strips/fries, drink, brownie, and chili. I don't think the chili should have been included, but the clerk included it, so we got 15.62 worth of food for 11.25. Cool!

Napped a while, then enjoyed sitting out on the patio. How do they keep the bugs away? Only bug I saw was a dragonfly. Also saw some lizards - are they geckos? Anyway, they're adorable.

Had an early (5:30) dinner at Ohana's (place was PACKED). Loved the wontons and peanut sauce, and ate all the carmel that was left from the pineapple. Walked out to the beach and watched Wishes, then back to crash at VWL. DH really liked the "Welcome Home" every time - I thought he'd think it was hokey, but he surprised me. (By the way, we JUST barely got done with dinner in time to see Wishes - we were walking out at 6:50 and Wishes was at 7:00.)

Tomorrow - Sunrise Safari

My granddaughter (7) is fascincated by the lizards/geckos at WDW ... last summer she even managed to catch one!
