Hi:)

In full planning mode at the moment - must be because we're approaching our 90 window for ADR's;). Going to WDW with my friend again leaving DH at home for the 3rd time! We are thinking about having a girly pamper day. Anyone recommend a day spa near to WDW we aren't driving so short taxi journey would be good. Thought of the 3 onsite spa's but they are a bit expensive and we fancy going off site. We went to a spa on the Diva's on a dime (or supermarket sweep as we renamed it!)shopping trip last year for a manicure which was lovely but can't remember the name of it plus i think it was a bit far away.

Any ideas:goodvibes

Most day spa's I've visited in Orlando have been fairly pricey but worth every penny IMO.
If you can splash out and spoil yourself then The Ritz is the best in my eyes but more $$$ than the Grand Floridian Spa. I think from your post you have ruled out the Disney Spas but they do have some lovely day packages which work out good value for money esp if you have AP's or DVC to get the discount.
Also wonderful is the Mandara Spa at the Portifino hotel in Universal. Again discount if you have AP's and a wonderful array of treatments. This spa I think is a little cheaper than Disney.
Up at Winter Garden we have a couple of salons but they are not ''spa's'' per say. More like somewhere you can get hair/nails/pedi done for very reasonable prices. There is also a salon at Summerport which is fine but again not what I would class a spa.
I am sure that there would be some down in on the 192/Kissimee area but I personally have never tried them. HTH.

There's also a Mandara Spa at the Dolphin which I can thoroughly recommend if you're staying onsite at Disney. I agree that the spa at the Ritz-Carlton, Grande Lakes takes some beating.

Oh good catch Debbie the Dolphin would be a much closer/cheaper taxi ride!

I'm sure I read there was a spa at the new Mona Lisa aparthotel at Celebration - remember in the magazine it looked really nice.

The Lake Buena Vista Resort Village right next to Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores (on the 535 about 5-10 mins from Downtown Disney) is well worth trying as it has the Reflections Spa, which is practically brand new and a bit cheaper than some of the bigger resort spas.

The Woodhouse Day Spa chain is found in many places in the USA and also has a new location on Sand Lake Rd, in the spakling new Dellagio development, and could also be worth seeking out. :thumbsup2

PS: I think the Mona Lisa Suites Hotel was supposed to have a spa in it, but there certainly wasn't one when we visit a couple of months ago. Great place to go for a drink and snack from their brick-oven kitchen, though!
