Day Sister Trip

My sister and I were trying to plan a day trip to Disney Springs and some resort hopping, but our mom is not up for it. Our mom has really bad anxiety, so she is worried about letting us go alone. Disney is only about 3 hours from our house, so I would think that’s not a big deal. I go to college that is 5.5 hours away from my house. I am currently 19, and my sister is 12. I was just wondering other people’s thoughts on this day trip. Thanks!!

It sounds reasonable. I was taking 3 hour from the house day trips at 19, but your Mother might be worried that 6 hours on the road is too much. Find out what has her worried most and see if there is anything you can do to mitigate that. Would leaving earlier and coming home earlier help? Planning the trip to avoid traffic, calling and letting her know that you and sis are ok at lunch and dinner? What would make her feel ok about saying yes? I think you would have a great time and its no big deal.
