Day room options in Orlando?

Our flight home on 5/6 doesn't depart until 8:30 pm and we have no plans for that day other than possibly using one of our remaining free days on our US/IOA ticets but I was wondering what the possibilities are of getting a day room at a hotel with a nice pool (for DD12 and our 12-yr old nephew). Any suggestions?

the only hotel that I have even seen offer day room is the Hyatt at the airport.

so I don't know....

I don't know where you're staying but some hotels will give you a very late check out (6p) if you pay something like half your normal room rate.

I don't think this will work if you're staying at a condo property but if you could ask.

I would be happy if I could just find a place that would let us check in early, around 10:00 or so, rather than the usual late afternoon. We would have to check out and head to the airport around 6:00. I thought about taking advantage of the $39 deal that Comfort Inn Universal is offering on Travelzoo. That way we could spend part of the day at US/IOA but we would have a place to change, take a swim and relax a bit before our flight. I'm sure the pool isn't anything extra but I wouldn't mind as long as were spending part of the day at Universal.

We have a timeshare in Kissimmee - they charge $100 for a late check out. I think it's only until 1 pm which doesn't do us much good but I'm going to call them to confirm.

The biggest thing to remember, is to get confirmation they'll allow you to check-in for the day. It would be awful to have the room, and not allow you to check-in before the 3 or 4pm usual check-in time.

Jeanne, call the timeshare directly and ask if they will allow you to have resort privileges on your check-out day. Where are you staying?

We've been to several timeshares where we packed our things in our car and officially checked-out. Then we were allowed to continue to enjoy the resort pool, fitness room, game room and lobby/lounge until it was time for us to leave to go to another location - at no charge. Some have even had a shower and/or lockers available in the restroom nearest the pool or fitness room so we could freshen up before traveling.

The timeshare resorts are mostly concerned with getting the rooms emptied on time so housekeeping can get in and prepare for the next week's guests. They don't want other owners waiting later in the day. I'd definitely call them and ask about this.

We own at Wyndham Palms in Kissimmee. I'm assuming we would have resort privileges after we checked out but it would be nice to have a place to change, shower and relax a bit before we head to the airport. I don't think they have a restroom with showers/lockers but it's not something I've ever looked for in the past since we've had no need for it so I may be mistaken. I'm going to call them though to confirm and we may just check out as late as we're allowed and then head to Universal for the afternoon.

We stayed at the Homewood suites on I Drive and for $50 we were able to check out at 16:00 which was very handy, we went to Blizzard beach then came back, showered, changed and left refreshed
