We booked a day room at the Atlantis resort while on our DCL 1/03 and I was wondering if anyone has done this lately
and if the resort is still doing it? If not, has anyone booked a room at the comfort suites lately? Do they seriously check if you have 4 people in your party for the wristbands? We have 5 in our family and I don't use the pools, so I was hoping that we could just get a room ahead of time.
Thanks.

We cruised 10/12 and had a room at comfort suites. Not problem checking in early. The room was even ready. IMO not worth the money. You will need the wristband to be out in the pool and slide area so unless you are not going to hang with your family you will need to let them know you have a fifth person unless you are just planning to hang in the casino while the rest are in the pools. If you want more info let me know or read my trip report.

If you do reserve at Comfort suites ask for the LGOLD rate.

Like the previous poster I also was on the 10/12 cruise. Rented a room at the Comfort Suites. Ended up costing $167.88. Base price was around $136, I used the LGOLD rate. Beware of the taxes, and cleaning charge, etc. Then take into consideration the taxi of $4/person each way. Which was an additional $30 for us with tip. Then lunch was $25.

Atlantis checks everyone if they don't see that bracelet. You can't even get in the pool area's without the bracelet. Once outside the buildings, Atlantis has employees on every path - you don't have a wrist band, you are ejected. We were stopped 4 times before we got our bracelets.

I was very disappointed in the aquariums. The pools are OK. The slides - the lines were over 1 hour long. the lazy river was fun, but crowded, and people were waiting a long time for tubes. The place is huge. I don't mind walking around the MK but I hated walking around this place. Some of the buildings down near their quiet pool were run down. The interior of the buildings are beautiful. The undertow was terrible at the beach.

I'm glad I made the visit. But I will not be returning to Atlantis.

I agree with the previous posts. Atlantis is not worth it. Checking into Comfort Suites was a breeze and I believe cheaper than a day room at Atlantis Paradise. I will have to say that my daughter enjoyed the slides but there was a long wait for everything. I think she would have been just as happy hanging out at the Mickey pool, which we didn't get a chance to do since were always on an excursion. The aquarium is fine but if you've been to any other major aquarium you won't be impressed as we certainly weren't. Wouldn't do it again.

We were considering doing Atlantis on our own this time and not the excursion (haven't been to atlantis before).. have been comtemplating the room at comfort suites (but rate is much higher than you guys are quoting, maybe time of year issue - it ws $260).

Anyway, if we just go ourselves, no room, and buy the $25/per person entry fee - can we get to the beach with chair & towel? From the sounds of it, the water park isn't worth the $$ for the time in line and we would probably just hang at the beach for a while and get some lunch. There is a fairly large group of us and I am guessing some will want to go to the casino, others not, and some may go back to the ship earlier so want the flexibility of not being on the excursion, but still being able to do the casino/beach?

Suggestions? thanks

When we were there in Jan., they never checked for wristbands. While visiting the Atlantis in June of 2002, they wouldn't even let us near the beach or pool. Maybe Jan. is quieter because my kids barely waited on line to go down the slides. I do agree, The Dig was nothing special if you've been to other great aquariums.
I think I've decided to save the money this time around and not visit the Atlantis again. I just pulled out our bill from Jan. and between the day room rate of $250, taxes, resort fee, electricity charges, maid charges, and lunch, we spent over $480!
Thanks everyone for the replies.

Wow $480 for one day? That's crazy. But my DDs want to go there after watching some stupid Mary Kate and Ashley Olson movie. I'm gonna have to bribe them with something else.

I might add also that is such a joke they charge for maid service, gratuity and electric. We didn't even barely sit down in the room.
