I took a day off for mental health reasons. The 5 minute wait at the McDonald's drivethru was the straw that broke this camel's back.
First my dd26 called me Monday night to tell me that the eye dr. she went to referred her to a specialist as the optic disk behind her retina was swollen with fluid and is the cause of her headaches. The fluid can be either from the brain or from the vertabrae and can be a very serious situation. I'm waiting to hear as she's in Detroit. At least her father can go with her to the dr's even if I can't.
Then, I called my Mother Tuesday am to tell her about dd, and she told me that my aunt's (70) test results were back (she's been falling) and she has metastasized cancer cells in her brain from unknown cancer somewhere else. This explained both her falling and her mood swings. She's developmently behind, though not severely and my mom takes care of her. I decided to wait to tell her about dd - why add anymore worries until I know something.
Honestly, I was ready to get in the car to go to Detroit first then to PA yesterday but ex-dh and mom convinced me to wait until I was really needed which scares me.
Anyway, I guess the delay in getting a parfait at the drive-thru just put me over the edge and I called off work.
Thanks for listening!
