What is the busiest check-in day at the resorts?
We will be checking in on a Friday for a 9 night, 10 day stay.
It will be our first trip home to BLT. We have a dedicated 2BR,
standard view reserved. I requested an even # room, but I know
a request us just that, a request. I am wondering if our villa would
even have a slight chance of being ready when we get there, around
2-3:00. How busy are Friday check-ins?
Getting sooooo excited! Can't wait for Sept 17th!

Friday's are fairly busy for check in. But, they are always busy at 2:30 - 3:00 We usually try to get there around lunchtime to avoid the rush. Sometimes we luck into our room being ready and sometimes we don't but at least we are there!

I believe that Sunday is the most popular check-in day (kicks off the lower point weekdays). Friday actually is a big check-OUT day.

But that doesn't necessarily help availability of villas earlier. The more people check out, the more rooms need to be cleaned.

It doesn't hurt to ask if the room is available but it's smart not to count on getting into your room before 4:00 p.m.

They'll call your cell when your villa is ready if it isn't immediately available at check in. It's alway good idea to have some things in mind to do if you don't want to go to park just in case you have some wait time, like pool or resort hopping easy to do via monorail. Also, if you're getting DDP you can begin to use it, waiting for villa will not prevent that.

Why an even room? I havent heard of this before and wasnt sure of any difference between the odds and evens. Now I'm curious!

The evens (I think) are on the outside of the "C" and offer a view of the MK. So, you pay for a LV but actually get a LV and MK view.

I stayed in 7602 and it had a nice MK and SM view. It was a lousy Lake View, though. At first, I was assigned 7605, where I overlooked the pool and the building opposite me...and oh wait,....is that the lake over there to the left? Yes, stand over there and you can see it (pointing to right of the window). Hence, my desire to switch to another room, which happened to be an even number. Also request something above the 6th floor as you might find 25% of your window view blocked by the tops of swampy looking trees.

BTW, we checked in on a Sunday at 10am and room 7605 was ready at that time (June 2010). Now I know why. When I called to request to be switched, the manager told me they only had one other lake view room opening that day and it wouldn't be available until after 4pm. I waited. So, on Sunday, 10am they had a really bad Lake View and a decent one, but I was led to believe that was it for Lake Views.

No, they are actually the slowest. Sunday/Monday is the top check in time.

Yes, the even #'d rooms are the outer crescent. We also requested this for our upcoming BLT stay. We were in #8206 last year, LV studio, and it was a great view. As you mention, MK partial view for LV points.

I'm not sure about the day. But the worse time to check in is right after a DCL or Magical Express bus arrive. Talk about long lines.

We usually check in on a Saturday. This Feb, we checked in on Friday for the Daytona 500. I think the Saturday's are busier.
We will be checking in on a Thur this Oct, so it will be interesting to see how crowded it is.
