Day by day....????

I'd love to hear from a CM on this one... does this REALLY increase dues, or are we just perceiving that it could?

Sure, if call volume increases it might make sense that DVC would add staff to the phones, but do we really know for a fact that they do? Or do they just figure that we'll stay on hold for a couple more minutes, or else hang up and call back later at a lower volume time?

Interesting thread... I'm always amused at how easily these innocent questions turn into debates on this forum! Just gotta love diversity! ;)

I have never called for reservations day by day but then I never make reservations 11 months in advance. I go too often to be able to do that and many times my trips are hooked up with business trips/seminars that are not announced 11 months in advance. But I do call MS a lot to make many reservations and I can honestly say I have never gotten a busy signal nor have I ever been put on hold for an excessive amount of time.
If it was not necessary to call day by day why would people do it? I do not think they are trying to be or are being inconsiderate, I think they are doing what they have to do to get the rooms they want in the timeframe they need.

Sometimes, there may be a possibility that it may be in response to hype they read on this forum. The original poster didn't even know what it was. But, it's probably much to do about something that isn't that major. Let's get back to bashing owners who rent out thier points as an ongoing business....or complaining about other resort room sizes....:D

Sounds like a plan to me! LOL!!;)

Boy am I sorry I asked about day to day booking Being new, I am still trying to get up to speed on things. Perhaps a better question would be how difficult is it to make reservations at BCV. It seems that BWV may be more difficult to book. Any thoughts??

Don't be sorry about your original question, dreamscometrue, that is why we are here, to answer questions from all angles!

You may get more response to your BWV inquiry if you start a new thread.

BWV has demand for Standard View rooms which are a lower point requirement and Grand Villa three bedroom villas that BCV doesn't have. At the same time, BWV is much larger than BCV. BCV is currently new, so there is probably some novelty demand for those who want to try it out. If your going for a studio, 1 or 3 bedroom, and not worried about the standard view reduced point requirement, BWV is probably easier to book than BCV because of the larger room inventory. OKW has the largest inventory and usually the greatest availablity for studio, 1 or 3 bedroom units.

Your questions are great questions, don't hesitate to ask even if they touch a nerve from time to time, go for it. One of the topics that has been restricted on this forum is room occupancy, whether or not it is OK for a family of 5 to stay in a one bedroom. This is because both sides of the issue are passonate about thier view, polls have shown strong favorability towards one view which really pushes some people's buttons, the discussions get heated and repetative, and there is not a clear answer, so moderators have restricted that discussion to the debate board, where it never gets resolved or decided. But beyond that, most other questions are fair game, ask away!

I would ask member service's advice (oops another phone call ;) ). When I made my BWV standard view reservation for early December, they advised me to call day by day. When I made reservations for OKW for May at 7 months, I called on the first day and asked if it was necessary (1 bedroom). They looked at availability and said it wasn't necessary, so I didn't.

When I made our ressies for our upcoming trip to BCV, I called on the first day and asked the CM how availability looked for a 2br for 6 nights. The response was "their going fast", so I told them I would be booking day by day. This was the first time I felt it warranted day by day.
