Day at Universal and then MNNSHP too much?

I'm cramming a lot into a few short days... I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and really want to see Universal. We are going to do one short day there (the park closes at 5 for their Halloween party) Am I insane to think we will have the stamina for the MNSSHP? The other thing I really need to cram in is Hoop Dee Doo, so that would be my other choice. Does it seem silly and too much?
Thanks

Only Studios will close that early. That's where the HHN is held. IOA will still be open, and IOA has Hogsmeade. I'd just stay at Universal (assuming, hopefully, as a Potter fan, that you have a park to park ticket).

Besides, MNSSHP does allow people in at 4 with just their party tickets, and if you want to do that, then you'd have to leave UO even earlier, and if you did that I think you'd have to drop the "huge" from "huge Harry Potter fan" description. :);)

We are usually very exhausted when we get back from Universal. We have gone over to US the last two trips for a day then return to WDW around 6:00-7:00pm. We have had dinner at Trails End and just our resort after and this was enough for us. We generally get to US by 8:30 am. I think doing the party would be to much, however Hoop may be doable. We are a mom (me) and a teen dd 15 so no little ones and we get really tired. That has been our experience.

My husband and I did it. But we were going back to UOR the next day so we werent in too much of a hurry to get everything done in one day at UOR. Our day went a little like this...Our plane arrived in FL at 10:35am, by the time we checked into our hotel at disney, and took a cab to Universal it was a little after 12pm. We headed over to Hogsmeade and rode FJ, then hopped on the Hogwarts express and headed over to Diagon Alley where we spent about 3 hours, then took the train back over to Hogsmeade and checked out all of the shops there. At about 5:30 we left UOR and headed back to the hotel to get changed and have dinner, and we were at MNSSHP by 7pm. By stopping back at the hotel and relaxing a little while we ate dinner it wasnt so bad.

Ha!! Too funny! I did NOT know that the other park stays open. Thank you very much!!

One thing to keep in mind for MNSSHP: they let you into MK starting at 4PM, so when I plan my MNSSHP day, I always plan to enter the park right at 4. I figure that helps maximize my party time. I don't think I would do MNSSHP on a day that I was planning to go to Universal.

Would be WAY too much for us to try and fit in one day. We wouldn't enjoy either one fully.

Me and my two boys did it last year. They were 5 and 8. We went to Universal until around 4:00 with my DH and DD, then left them there for HHN and me and the boys went to MNSSHP. We had a great time and made it all the way to the end of the party. I plan on doing it again this year! Just make sure you can sleep in the next morning!

It's not crazy if you find value in it. It will be a very long day/night but if your entire group agrees I think you can do it. It's doable!
I am planning a super short trip to DW in October. We are squeezing in one day at Universal AND IOA for the first time for Harry Potter World. That day for us will also be closing early for HN so it may be hard to squeeze in both parks. We are planning to go the the MNSSHP the night before and waking up super early to be at Universal gates open at 8am on a Saturday. It may be busy/crowded and we may be tired but we find value in seeing the Harry Potter areas! We might not get another chance so we are all in!

I agree plus that is an extremely expensive day. You are paying about $200 per person a day for half a day at each one. For that price I much rather spend another night in a hotel and do both with more time at each park and more down time to feel like a vacation.
