The One with the Incredibles
The crew:
Myself; K-bug; age 25
Funnyman; my fiancé; age 26
Screamer; Jennifer48 here on the disboards; age 25
BurgerGuy; age 33
At the usual 8:30am we were at the car, BurgerGuy performed the Antennae Topper Ceremony, and soon we were on our way for our final full day at Disney. MGM/Disney Studios, here we come. Before heading to Florida, we had bought Incredibles t-shirts from the local Disney Store. They were red and just had the incredible I logo on the front. We planned to wear them today, and looked silly with all four of us heading into the park matching.
We head into the park and first things first, we need to get those thrill rides out of the way. BurgerGuy decided to sit these out. After we tortured him on Dueling Dragons and the Hulk, he didnt want t feel sick. Especially for the last full day.
We dropped off BurgerGuy at a bench with all our stuff, and as we were making our way to the Tower, it happened for the first time.
Excuse me, where did you get those Incredibles t-shirts? I have been looking everywhere for them for one for me from a full grown man.
The Disney Store at home. Sorry.
And off to the Tower of Terror we went. While in line it happened again. A little girl asked Screamer Are you Elastigirl?. Screamer suggested the girl pull her arm to find out. I think she was disappointed when it didnt stretch. I have ridden Tower of Terror a couple of times now, and this was the best one yet. We had several drops, and a bunch of delays where we werent sure if the ride was done or not, or when we would fall. It was great.
Next up Rockin Roller coaster. This is another one of my personal favorites and it did not disappoint. Walking off the ride it happened again. Did the Incredible family have fun? asked a Cast Member. We sure did.
We were all starving and it was still really early, so we headed to the ABC Commissary for some pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon. A great breakfast to fuel us for the day.
Since Lights, Motors, Action! was a must do on everyones list we headed to the back to catch the first show. We stopped to take photos with the Singing in the Rain umbrella, though they were not nearly as funny as the ones earlier in the week.
Heading into Lights, Motors, Action! it happened again: Yea! The Incredibles are here. The show was astonishing. I am not a car fan, but everyone else in the group is. We all enjoyed it. They did some amazing stunts and showed you how they can safely pull it off.
Next was the Backlot tour, followed by Muppets 3-D, along with a few more comments about our shirts. The Cast Member introducing the show got a bit confused though, she called Jim Henson, James Mason! I picked up a little Gonzo doll to join me at work in my cube (Kermit and Fozzy already live buckled in the backseat of my VW Beetle) and we cut in line by some lady who seemed to think she was allowed to do so. She then proceeded to take forever at the register.
We headed over for the Great Movie Ride, but the wait was too long so we decided to pay tribute to the man who made this whole trip happen. We walked through the exhibit of One Mans Dream and watched the movie about Walts life.
We made a beeline for the Beauty and the Beast show, since this is my favorite Disney movie, and I have never seen the show before. It was very good, except they jump from Belle being in her quaint town, to being in the castle with the Beast with no real explanation. I guess you have to see the movie before seeing this show.
We had a very early Fantasmic Dinner Reservation at Hollywood and Vine, so we made our way over to check in. Here we ran into a bit of trouble. We are from Massachusetts. More specifically, we are from just north of Boston. We are all Red Sox Fans. It runs in our blood. We cant help it. The Cast Member who checked us in was from New York. I happened to be wearing my Red Sox visor. You do the math.
She politely told me that she had a personal policy that she could not seat Red Sox fans. I may not be the quickest for comebacks, or know a ton of Red Sox information. But Screamer and Funnyman sure stepped up to the plate. Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! They hit her from every direction with Red Sox/Yankees trivia and info. I think BurgerGuy would have said something, if he though he could get a word in edgewise. Our Yankee-Fan hostess retreated and left us with a mere If you want to have a seat over here, we will call you in a moment.
Dinner was delicious, and it rained the whole time we ate (pretty much the only rain we saw all week). We stuffed our bellies to the brim again and left happy in our ponchos to head over to the Great Movie Ride. Afterwards, we strolled down to the special Fantasmic Dinner Package entrance at the front of the park and headed in to find our seats.
Rain/Lightning threatened to cancel our last big hurrah. The guy behind us opened his umbrella spraying us with the cold water that was still on it. Then he put up a stink when the Cast Member came over and told him this was an umbrella free zone! Thankfully, we didnt have to find out if he would have ignore the rules, since the ranl held out. The final comment about of tshirts came here. A cast member asked BurgerGuy If you are here, who is saving the world?
Frozone is. We have the night off.
Fantasmic was the perfect ending to our week.
We headed back to the hotel and enjoyed the pool and hot tub for the last time, followed by a slideshow of the day, and some packing to get ready to leave tomorrow. Then it was off for our last sleep at Disney.
