Our final day was overcast and cloudy. It did thunder and lightning quite a bit. We went to the Castaway Cay beach, rode bikes, played volleyball and sand soccer. Lunch was good. (So were the Konk Koolers!) We shopped, and took the banana boat ride and then headed back to the ship.

This was the first time we didn't have good weather at CC. I knew that this evening was really low key so when we got back we packed and prepared for the end of a great trip.

I attended the Disembarkation Presentation and cruise director Jim was great.

We went to Palo for dinner. It was nice but not as nice as I expected. Our servers Sompong and Joel had spoiled us all week. Believe or not, the servers in Palo were not as good. Our DDs still ate at Animators Palate and they had a great time with the servers.

After dinner, we put our luggage out and then went to the Atrium Lobby to watch the "Til We Meet Again" presentation. It was so sweet. Needless to say, by now we had booked next summer's Western cruise.

Next we went to the Promenade lounge where "Hollywood" performed. It wasn't our cup of tea, but many others seemed to like it. Then we tried Dueling Pianos for alittle while before taking our last midnight stroll around the ship.

A perfect ending to a wonderful, MAGICal trip.............

Hi JoAnn - sounds like you had a terrific time! Thanks for the reports. I see you went bike riding on CC...do you recall how much it was per hour? Were there a lot of different places to go? Also wondering if they had smaller bikes or at least a bike seat for my DD who is 7 and rides her own 2 wheeler and my DS who will be 4, but only rides a trike...just wondering what their options would be. Thanks, Jo

Yeah, we were bummed too that Castaway Cay was overcast and rainy. This was our second Disney Cruise and both times we had lousy weather there! But oh well, we still had fun and are booked for a Wonder sailing next July--maybe the 3rd time at Castaway will be the charm! P.S.-- We also closed our cruise with Dueling Pianos and yes, Anton DID give us his socks! (We were the girls sitting up front!) :)

Hey Jo! The bike rental is $6 per bike. I don't think there is a time limit. There are several sizes of bikes. My nephew who is 6 years old rode one small one. I don't know about trikes. There is basically one route. You go out to an airplane runway which takes you to the adult beach. Then you make a right and it is a dirt path. You can turn around any time you want. We really enjoyed it.

Catjammies??? What was with the socks?????? I saw you guys. We didn't stay too long. I just wanted to see at least one performance so that I could face Rae on the boards......

I made this comment to Maclean, our head server as to why I have never gone to Palo for dinner. He was surprised. I always found the servers to be a little "high brow" for my two cents, where as the dining room servers are friendlier, fun and just more comfortable to be with. Yes, Palo is a more formal atmosphere and quite possibly it's just not my style.

I do enjoy the brunch there but wouldn't give up my regular servers for a Palo meal regardless.

I guess we're not alone in our opinion. It depends if you have good servers who are personable and get to know your family, I guess. The Palo servers were alittle stuffy with the exception of the hostess who was wonderful.

I didn't see any but maybe someone else knows. There are many different size bikes. Hope that helps!!

Oh Momma-Rae! Please say it isn't so! I do hope you haven’t had a bad experience in Palo!

We have always had a wonderful experience with the servers in Palo! Yes, they do tend to be a little more formal and soft-spoken, but they have always been very personable to us.

We had Erika from South Africa on this last cruise and she was outstanding! Very funny woman and she made both of our meals (brunch and dinner) a delight!

Perhaps if she's still on the ship next September you would consider joining us one night? ;)

Sons - I would be honored! Yes, and of course, you will brunch with me also....

Sons like you make a Mom proud -

Love,
Rae

Hey Joanne...just finished reading all your trip reports. Sounds like you had a fantastic time and it brought back many memories. I just love Que...he is so funny and cute!!

Not that you posted your TR's...please post some pics. I love seeing everyone vacation pics and love seeing everyone's formal family pics.

Glad you had a great time.

MJ

Thx MJ and have fun planning your upcoming cruise!!! Que and Andy were terrific. (Was Andy on your trip?) I also enjoyed seeing Ellen, SheShe and DJLA (Who now goes by Brent - a ship officer.) As I might have mentioned, this summer was even more fun than last summer. I didn't think that was possible. I really like the Western itinerary. The sea was like bathwater it was so calm. I will try to post my pics. My scanner is disabled so this will take some effort. Our cruise pics came out dark due to xray machines on our checked luggage. I have all these technical issues!
