Joyce, 23- Me! Disney crazy and not happy unless there's a trip in the works
Eric, guess! (yup, 23)- We went to WDW last May, and he's a convert!

Saturday, January 10, 2004 Day 7

Well, I was well rested. The boys were a bit sleepy, though. They had a good time at the Adventurer's Club (even though they thought up a really funny joke where they pretend that it wasn't fun... yeah, I thought so, too). They were unhappy with the Pamelia/Samantha switch, but they got over it. Oh, and Mark was sad that his girlfriend, Tish the Maid wasn't there. He got over that, too.
We were slow to start (you don't know how it pains me to keep writing this), and meandered over to MGM. I don't know how many busses we waited. We'll say 3 um... 1 DTD and 2 MK. Guess who was there! Team Cinderella Backpack. Niiiice.
So we did .. yup, TOT and RNR- we even bought a picture from Rock n Roller coaster. Believe it or not, we also did More Great Movie Ride. Do they still do the cowboy scene? Because we were dedicated to seeing it, and we never did. Oh well. It was still bad, but marginally better because our gangster was pretty good. The construction in the back of the park was very noticeable. New York Street was dead, and can certainly use the help!
We left the park, and took a boat over to the Swan/Dolphin for some Mini-golf action. Eric and I had done Winter-Summerland in May and we loved it. (WE have the dream maker package.. I don't know ANYone who would pay $500 for mini golf) So, we wanted to try Fantasia Gardens. It was still cold, but we had fun.
From there, we went to Epcot and it had gotten downright freezing! We finally got to see Living with the Land, though! I really like this ride. Though I have a hard time visiting the Land, with that big construction wall pretending like there isn't a great show about nutritution behind it. Oh- you mean there isn't? But there was, right? Oh, ok... just checking. I mean.. bring on Soarin', but I'm gonna MISS Food Rocks!
Ok, I officially do NOT remember eating this day. I know us, though, and food is a big thing. I did get some pecans.. they were good. Weird...
I know we spent some time in World Showcase, and I got a napoleon in France (so I guess I don't remember the boys eating, or me eating anything other than sugar). We stopped to watch Imaginum again, but it was COLD, and she only came out for a few minutes. We got our pictures taken, though so we were happy.
As we were walking back around the WS (and shivering our hineys off), we witnessed a heart-warming family scene. Could Team Cute have competition? I noticed a girl about 8 years old walking by herself. Odd, I thought and looked around for a family. There was one WAY up there (the park was pretty deserted because, and I may not have mentioned this, it was COLD). Turns out, that IS her family. They're not concerned about her wandering, but i keep my eye out. Then, the girl catches up, and the son is crying. The dad says, "You should have brought your coat.. now you have to suffer." This boy is wearing a t-shirt. It is MAYBE 40 degrees. I am way passed uncomfortable with a spring jacket on. He is wearing a T-shirt. The dad says he'll just have to suffer. So the kid is bawling, and now it's his turn to fall back (I'm guessing the girl got yelled at earlier, hence the way far back walking). As the kid falls back he mutters while crying, "I didn't know we'd be out this long.." I really wanted to buy a $200 pair of stretch gloves at this point for the poor kid, and maybe a $500 jacket- but that probably would've caused more trouble. Team Dysfunctional stinks. And you know that Mr. Crappy Dad thinks he's some great parent cause he took his kids to Disney World. Ugh. Sorry about that, but it was a really bothersome thing to see. I'll move on now.
Obviously, we were headed back to the hotel to thaw and try to have better thoughts. We bundled up, and went to the Adventurer's club. It was fun again, and Tish was there! But Emil had changed, and I can't have that. My new rule is: one AC visit a trip. That way I can just be happy with the cast members in whatever role they happen to be in. Also, it's hard to have BOTH Kungalooshes and rope drops. And I don't want to dissapoint Team Purple.
It's almost over, folks. Please hold your tears for the end.

Day 8

STUPID parent being just that ........stupid......geesh.......thanks so much for your report......wish I knew where you ate today.......

just wanted to say your reports are very funny!

Also this is the exact day we flew into orlando to start our vacation. And it WAS freezing! We didn't go to any parks on this day but i can remember sitting by the pop century playground freezing to death thinking........ this is supposed to be FLORIDA!! Luckily that was the coldest day we had and the week warmed up.

I'm off to finish your reports! :D

I have been to Disneyworld many times, with kids and without. There are many frightening things to see, excluding the e ticket rides! but.... as an experienced (read old) parent.... let me offer another scenario.... Little Johnny gets up in the morning and puts on shorts and a T. Mom and Dad say "No, Johnny, it's cold and you need to put on pants and a coat." Johnny says "No, that's stupid, I am never cold, you can't make me, I hate you", etc... Parents do the child parent dance and then decide sometimes the best lessons are the ones kids learn on their own. I mean, he will be uncomfortable, but not in danger. Meanwhile, little Jenny is walking behind and pouting because her parents told her she had $25 to spend on souveneers for the trip, which she did at the hotel gift shop when they checked in, against her mother's advice. She now wants the $100 plush pee and poop Mickey. Parents say "No". She hates them! Perhaps the cute family girls were so exhausted from eating ice cream for every meal and receiving everything they ask for. No conflict because of no "no's"?

As we all know from Disney, things are almost never what they appear to be... except for maybe the Mom I saw who gave us one of our favorite family quotes (although we are kidding when we use it, and I doubt she was) "You ain't too big to put over me knee!" (which really makes me laugh when I use this on my 13 ds because A, I never put anyone over any knee, and 2, he IS too big to put there!)

Could be- who's to say? I was writing about our day. This happened during that day. It made us feel uncomfortable, and was a lasting memory, therefore it made it into the report. I don't WANT it to be the way it seemed. I hope it was your scenario (though just because the kid through a fit about dressing warm, doesn't mean you could'nt throw his jacket into the basket of the stroller).

Since essentially, these are just fictional characters (I wouldn't even be able to pick the family out of a line up), I don't think any of us should spend too much time worrying about it.
