I am awoken by this morning at 6am by the weather, the rain and wind are pounding against the window, but I cannot resist getting up and having a look. Outside is horrible, windy with the palm trees bending back etc. The previous night we were advised by Disney that all theme parks will be closed and all bus transportation cancelled until the weather passes over. My plan was to sleep in as long as possible to recharge the batteries, but as usual I wake up early, but I am up now what am I going to do! Everyone is sleeping so I decide to have a shower and go down to the food court early as I am sure it will be a jungle later, as the service available today will be limited also yesterday we saw hundreds of motor caravans using the All Stars car park, so I assume there from an area that the hurricane will hit hard in Florida and will use the hotel facilities. Once I make my way through the rain and wind to the food court I get a coffee and a cake when I am finished I load up with some snacks from the shop, then fill up Vals mug with hot chocolate also take another coffee back to the room, luckily we brought items from Goodings when we at crossroads a few days ago so we have crisps, chocolate, sweets and drink in the room.
On the way back to the room I notice one of the Fantasia signs from the building has been blown off, the wind must be stronger than it seems. Val is up and getting ready but we just chill out, we will leave the boys in bed, Disney are running back to back films on the TV. To be honest we then spent all the time until 3pm just reading, listening to music on our players and also in my case eating all the childrens sweets. Our friends children came to our room I must admit the four of them were all chilled out we did not know they were there. We saw the weather get worse and the queue to the food court was now outside the building, but as long as we are all safe etc.
At about 3pm the bad weather had blown over and Disney had opened the parks to Disney resort guests only, so we decided to get a bus to Epcot just to get out of the room.
We spent two hours at Epcot mainly just walking about, but we did manage to ride SE, the park was not that busy but our time was limited as we had a 7.30 PS with our friends at Chef Mickeys. It was so good to get out of the room really enjoyed the short time here.
On the bus back to the resort Glenn bumped into a boy from his class at school, both did not know the other was going to WDW, what are the odds of that happening?
We got back to the room about 6pm, so we decided to drive to the Contemporary instead of using the Disney transport. For the first time ever my family have arrived early for a PS lol, we take the time to walk around the resort. I found the hotel bar but it appeared that when I walked over the threshold, I became invisible, as the bar staff just ignored me for 20 minutes, I did say to one of the waiting staff can you see me? but they just ignored me, unfortunately this does not extend to my family who obviously can still see me as they are all shouting at me dont you want a drink? I decide to give up as our friends have arrived so we decide to go in and eat!
I am not a big fan of the character meals but apparently it is because I am boring, or so I am advised by my family. The food was really good; I enjoyed the salads, beef actually a bit of everything and a few deserts. Now for some reason a seven foot tall Goofy will not leave me alone, look I am trying to eat and ignore my friends and family who are screaming and shaking their napkins in the air for no reason, but this giant thing is poking at me and sticking his face into mine, this as you can realise this makes everyone around me hysterical with laughter this must go on for twenty minutes on and off even followed me to the food counters. After the giant Goofy left me alone something much worst happens I am now hounded by a Disney CM about whether we want to buy our pictures or not, this takes ages as I appeared to have been appointed head honcho for our table, while everyone eats I am trying to hold a conversation with someone that does not understand my accent and to be honest I have no idea what language she is speaking to me, eventually I buy three magnets and pictures etc, to this day we have no clue why as nobody else appears to want them lol.
After the meal we head off to the MK as it is open late and for Disney guests only so it should be quiet. We caught the monorail to the entrance and then managed in three hours to ride everything in the park, see all the shows etc we actually do it all. We had such a good time, apart from the children getting stuck on BTM, actually it was justice as they got to stay on the ride one more time but the CM had people waiting to get into my seat, but they all got a free no Queue pass for any one ride at the MK to use next time.
We left the MK around 12.30am and all walked back to the Contemporary where we had left the cars [naughty I know], our friends children came with us so I have a car with five mad screaming people in, now we all know I am going to get lost, each time we have been to the Contemporary I get lost, tonight is no exception, I drive every single twist and turn on Disney property, 45 minutes later we arrive back somehow to the All Stars.
It is now 2am so we need top be quiet, or so you would think, we asked Scott to walk Sophie and Bradley back to their room, which he did, when he returns he then informs me their parents were not back, I said you should have stayed with them, I was then told all you said was walk them back to their room!! I had to get dressed and go and check they were ok, no problems their parents had got lost as well lol, sometimes I wonder if Scott just does it to wind me up, as on my return everyone is in bed and he says to me do you have to make so much noise I am trying to sleep! Is the bar still open?
Tomorrow
Shopping at Belz, Pool and Mickeys Halloween party [with free sweets]
