DH: sleeper car, version 46.6, 3 previous trips

Wed 9/24
We were supposed to go back to EPCOT this morning but I decided to give the troops the morning off as we needed a crash day. We had breakfast at the Whispering Canyon Café (WCC) which was an event unto itself. DH was a bit hung over from all the beer, or at least he looked like he was hung over. WCC is definitely not the place to be for a quiet breakfast. The CMs ride your breakfast out on thundering horse trays and enjoy making a big racquet by yelling and whooping it up. We like ketchup on our eggs and WCC had the finest ketchup known to man or beast. It said Heinz on the bottle but it must have been a special blend because it was mighty tasty. Be sure to ask for the ketchup even if you are having French toast or waffles because Im sure it would taste great on them too. Ask for some ketchup. Trust me. ; )
We spent the morning horsing around the lodge and pool. We were pretty tired and it was hot and we needed some time off from the extensive marching around. DH was especially tired after having to get up at 4 am early Tuesday morning and do laundry. Oh, I forgot to mention that in Tuesdays report didnt I. Humph. Yep you read right, 4 am. Why 4 am? Well when Mom went to do laundry during Tuesday evening she couldnt even get in the door it was so packed with people waiting.
Imagine an entire resorts worth of families having to do laundry on only 5 functioning washing machines. These are High capacity machines mind you but they each took 40 minutes to wash one load and the dryers worked on 15 minute cycles and took a minimum of 3 cycles if not 4 to dry all your stuff. So two hours and $18 dollars later we had fresh laundry till the end of the week. We were sweating all week in the heat and humidity so we were changing outfits twice a day. We had planned to do laundry while at the WL but we had no idea what a bad idea this was due to the high demand and low supply of the machines.
Our sweaty clothes were pretty funky by the time we were ready to check out. I feel sorry for those people who have to check the luggage at the airport. They were in for a real treat when they opened our bags.
Later on Wednesday night we had PS for the Hollywood Brown Derby with the Fantasmic package. It started raining cats and dogs while we were in the Derby but it had stopped by the time we were finished eating. The meal was just ok in our opinions but we did have a nice server. We had about an hour to kill so we split up and wandered around again until the 7:30 pm seating for Fantasmic.
We hoofed it over hill and dale to get to the stadium and made our way to the nice aluminum benches. Aluminum is a pretty good conductor of electricity, not as good as copper but it still does the job. The reason I mention this is that a lightning storm was rolling in as we took our seats and this is the sort of thing that goes through your mind when you are out there in the open. I was in denial because I knew what was going to happen next. They were going to cancel the show.
They made an announcement about how the show may be delayed or canceled due to the weather. DH is the kind of guy that does not like to take any kind of chances. He was chomping at the bit to leave. Finally when it became clear to me that the storm was getting closer and more intense we decided to leave. By the time we hoofed it out to the bus stop we heard that they finally did cancel the show. I knew we would never make it back during this trip to see Fantasmic so my record of never getting to see a parade or fireworks show unobstructed and in its entirety was upheld. It was too good to be true anyway. All those seats with unobstructed views of the stage. It just wasnt meant to happen . Sigh.
