Wow, Day 5 already. My last full day at Disney. This has been a bit of a bumpy trip. Not literally, just emotionally. I had high hopes, with all my planning and things I have learned from the Dis. Most of them were realistic and met. I mean, things were great above and beyond my expectations in most cases. Two stumbles in my quest for the perfect vacation were my feet (see Day 4) and my disappointment with Star Wars Weekends (see Day 3). Even my parents were thrilled with the trip. The last time we went 2 years ago, they told me that it would probably be their last trip to WDW. This time, they know they will go back within a couple of years. We all loved the Dining plan. It worked great for us and we were really happy having most of the food pre-paid. It eased the financial burden a bit. We also loved having our PS for lunch every day. We knew where we were eating and when. Ok, back to the actual trip report!
Today was Epcot day. Now, I know that some of you would be shocked, but Epcot was not my favorite park. It was ranked 4 out of 4 in fact. The first time I went there were no “thrill” rides and I thought it was pretty boring. I enjoyed going through World Showcase because I loved the idea of traveling through all those countries, but it was a long way around and I was bored. The second time, there was Test Track to do and being an adult, I appreciated things a bit more. This time, I had a really great time. We went to Imagination first and went on that little ride. We were the only ones in line but we really like that ride. It is cute. We then went to Honey I Shrunk the Audience which seems to still be good even after seeing it 6 or more times. We then walked to the Land to try Soarin. Unfortunately there was an hour wait so we got fast passes and went over to the Living Seas. I really like all the Nemo themed things now. I think that it really jazzed up the place. We didn’t do Turtle Talk with Crush because the lines were huge! Plus, as three grown adults, I don’t know how we would have enjoyed it. We spent some time watching the beautiful fish and dolphins and then headed back to do Soarin before our 1:00 PS at Coral Reef. Soarin is great! I saw it at DCA but I enjoyed it just as much this time. My dad was in awe. He loved it! My mom had to close her eyes and I narrated it for her. She would open them every now and then but just a peak and they were closed again. I am just happy she went on it. She doesn’t like heights or simulation rides so I am proud of her. We headed over for lunch and had another good one. This is my dad’s favorite restaurant at the parks and his only request. I had the salmon sandwich and it was very good. We then had the Chocolate Wave for dessert and it is amazing. I need that recipe! After lunch my parents decided to leave for the day and I stayed in order to do Test Track and Mission Space. I got a fast pass for test track and then realized that it wasn’t good until 6:30 that night! I wasn’t about to wait so I headed to the single rider line which I think took longer than the regular line. I don’t think that I really like Test Track. It does nothing for me. I headed over to Mission Space and again got into the Single Rider line. I was terrified of this ride but I knew that I would regret not going on it. I loved it! I didn’t have any problems at all and I thought that it was great. I would have gone on it again, but didn’t want to push my luck with 2 times in a row. I decided to head over to MGM again but stopped at Spaceship Earth which I rode for the first time ever. I liked it. It was relaxing. Over at MGM I decided that I should have stayed at Epcot or gone over to MK again. MGM was still packed but at least this time I was able to get into the Star Wars store. I also rode TOT again (I love that ride!). Feeling good about my day I headed back to CBR to pack up for the next morning.
