Thursday, January 8, 2004 Day 5

Things are getting fuzzy, here. I know we were getting slower. Or, the BOYS were getting slower. I was full steam ahead. Oh! I remember now! It was MGM day, complete with dinner at 50's PTC. Whew.. I was getting nervous for a minute!
This is the first time in a looooong time that I was at MGM in the morning. For some reason, it's the park that always gets hopped to. But not today! This was an all day adventure. With a guest star, to boot!
It was a typical MGM day, od'ing on TOT and RnR. The waits were short, and we rode them both a LOT. We met Lilo and Stitch, and they were the coolest! I just realized- I forgot to inform you of an ongoing quest of ours. We rode the Great Movie Ride on our first day... and it was bad. No offense to the brave CMs of that attraction, but MAN. Our tour guide was ok, I guess... but our ganster... she was something else. The three of us were embrassed for her, which made for an awkward 30 minutes. You'd think we'd stay away from the ride on this day... You'd be wrong. I thought I remembered an alternate scene- with cowboys instead of gansters.
So Mark was bound and determined to see it. So we rode it again, and again. And it never got better and I still dream about the awkwardness of being 2 inches from someone telling really bad jokes, but not in the way Jungle Cruise skippers do it. I got the impression the Movie Ride kids THOUGHT they were putting on a good play, but it wasn't. And since they're not allowed to ad-lib (I'm assuming), the whole thing has a memorized-bored feeling to it. I used to love this ride.... but, I used to love my pacifier, too. Ugh.
Ok, so this was the coolest thing ever: We were at Indiana Jones, nice and early. Minding my own buisness, waiting for the show to start. When BLAM! Someone is grabbing me and saying hi. The head was upside-down and I could not tell who it was. So I nervously said, "who are you?" It was Crystal!!! My friend and fellow Dressage Team-mate from college. (Also fellow bridesmaid in a friend's wedding, but we didn't know that then) What are the chances of that? It was too cool. Unfortunately, we lost each other after the show, but it was way cool anyway.
By now it was time for dinner (I'm lying, I have no idea what order any of this happened in. But neither do you, so just sit tight and enjoy the report!). We were seated right away and were served by Cousin Louis. He was nice, but not to into the role. Oh well, it was still a good meal. I had fried chicken, and someone had meatloaf. We all had s'mores. Yummy!
There was some Muppet watching, and Star Tours, and maybe Soudns Dangerous (that might've been Saturday), then time to head to DTD. I'm not sure why, but we decided to go to Pleasure Island (I HATE clubs)... wooweee
It got pretty cold with the sun gone, but we journeyed on. We got to DTD, and strolled around a bit before heading into PI. We found ourselves infront of Adventurer's Club, but we all got cold feet and scurried away. But we about-faced and stuck our courage to the sticking place (as order by Gaston in "The Mob Song") and walked in. We went around back and down the stairs and were frozen. There was craziness going on with a maid, and some guy, and a wacky lady. Soon, everyone filed into a room and we were left in an almost empty salon. I grabbed a drink (had to try a Kungaloosh, yum!) for something to do, and we sit in a quiet room. The Mask Room. Pretty soon it's full of people and Tish Myass, the maid is carrying on. It was great, and by now we were hooked. We know knew who everyone is, and enjoyed seeing the newer people come in and look like we had. We watched all the rest of the shows, and I got to know my favorite adventurer, Emil Bleehall. Mark was dubbed the 'Woo Man' by Tish, and we all represented our states at the Hoopla. We left at 12:30. We got on a bus, and somehow made it to bed. Whew!
