Ended up going downstairs to the lobby bar at the Hyatt to get away from the party below me at the pool. Turns out that Cannon checked in with a gazillion people and that's what the noise was from. Start talking to the bartenders and people around me. Lots of fun with one problem: everyone kept buying me drinks! Next thing I know I'm a little woozy and it's 2am!
Go upstairs and pass out. What a night!! Groggily get up in the morning, pack the rest of my things, and stand out on my wonderful rooftop patio and enjoy the view one more last time. I head downstairs and catch a cab to the Boardwalk. I tried to check in, hoping I had enough pixie dust to be able to check in at noon, but no such luck. That's ok. I decide to walk over to Epcot and have some lunch. I went on Spaceship Earth and Soarin before heading over to the Electric Umbrella. Got a nice table outside (in between the rain drizzles) and enjoyed my lunch. It's been a couple of hours so I decide to walk back over to the BWV and see if I can get in. The wine from last night is kicking me in the butt by now and I really just want to get in the room and relax for a little bit. Stiiillll not enough pixie dust so I decide to buy a magazine and relax on the porch outside. Two hours and two magazines later my room is ready! I am SO excited, I have been looking forward to this room since I booked it 5 months ago!!!! Not my favorite to say the least. I walk in and go straight to the bathroom since the corner glass showers and big tubs are my favorite part of coming to DW and WHAT?! I have been checked into a handicapped room with a rollin shower and the clerk didn't even have the decency to tell me!!!
At this point I am so grumpy, pissed off, hungover and tired that I just sit down on the couch and bawl my eyes out like a 2 year old that hasn't had her nap for the day. I work in the hospitality industry and knows what it feels like to be reamed out over something like this. To save the desk clerc or manager from that I decide to keep to myself...because like I said before, I am so grumpy, pissed off, hungover, and tired that I know if I dare to open my mouth at this point someone's going to regret ever answering the phone. I decide from this point on to keep the bathroom doors shut because it just pisses me off everytime I look in there. The highlight of my stays at DVC has been ruined this trip. Whatever, try to get past it...my boarwalk view should cheer me up! Walk outside and have a very large balcony, bonus. Very nice view...I'm on the same floor as the lobby right above the General Store and the boat dock, nice. Then I sit down. GRRRRRRRR. I don't have a balcony with rails that you can see through...my balcony is a wall that's 4 feet tall. I can see a wall...and the very tip top of the Yacht and Beach Club roofs. Needless to say... I dislike the BWV very much at this point.... yes, very much. We'll skip ahead just for a moment to later that night when I come home to go to sleep at 10:30. The juggler is directly underneath my balcony with a crowd of people cheering him on. Not to mention the bike riding piano guy and the balancing act guy. Nope...definately not my favorite place to stay. I can't even get sleep! Oh... I didn't mention the hordes of people who leave Jellyrolls drunk at 2am who love to scream and have a party right under my windows as they're walking to their own rooms. I'm sure if screamed under their windows at 2am when they were sleeping they wouldn't be too happy either. Morale of the story....put thicker soundproof windows on the balcony doors. Anyway...I digress. After I have my crying session to my mother on the phone. I get dressed and head over to the MK to meet fellow DISer ThumpersTara at the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. That is a great place. I really enjoyed it. The food is good and the character interaction is wonderful. The atmosphere is different from what I'm used to so it was really a great suprise! After that we walked around for a bit and snagged an awsome spot right in front of the castle to watch the fireworks. I hadn't seen wishes in a long time so it was almost new to me! I got some great pictures! After we left, I headed back to the BWV and that's when I tried (see earlier comments) to go to sleep.
