Day 4..Tues, Oct 28, 2003. Bike Riding to Fort Wilderness, DTD & Disney Quest.
Today's weather looked a bit "iffy". Some scattered showers predicted. So we decide to use our DisneyQuest feature on our 7 day unlimited pass.
We decide to go bike riding first. DS & I love to do this. We have done this several times at PO Riverside and was looking forward to biking to Fort Wilderness. So off we go! What a cool path through the woods to Ft Wilderness. We were the only ones on the path! We get to Ft Wilderness and park the bikes by the Petting Zoo. You can buy some feed from a dispenser and feed the goats, cows, chickens, etc. Nearby is a hand wash station, which I gladly used. There were pony rides for children 80lbs and under. The ponies were adorable. I noticed the horse stables across the road, so I ventured into them. I used to own quarter horses years ago, so I just had to go see "Disney's" horses. The barn was immaculate! The horses in this barn are used for the parades and special events. There was a wall of ribbons that they had won and pictures of Walt Disney. Walt loved horses! These horses are "draft" horses. They are BIG and they love to pull and are amazing looking animals. They are so very well kept and groomed. I had a nice conversation (horse talk) with the Head Stable Manager and complemented him on how well he kept the horses and how beautiful the stalls were. He was very appreciative. Im sure not many people come in there and talk to him. We looked around FT Wilderness a bit more then came back to the WL. BTW, the food looked terrific at the Trails End Buffet!
I took the car in hoping I wouldnt have to go "Around the Horn" to get to Downtown Disney. We make it to DisneyQuest and head straight to "Create your own roller coaster Ride" . That was fun. We did a few more things and decided to leave. I got bored. DS liked it, but he didnt give me a struggle to go somewhere else. We ate lunch at Wolfgang Pucks and went into all the stores. We went to the pin station and "built a pin". We also pin traded. Then came the famous sundae at Ghiardellies (did I spell that wrong? I know I did, can you read typos?). I love that place! MMMMM hot fudge sunday. (Im doing jumping jacks as I type, LOL). My son HAD to go to the Lego store. It was sprinkling out a bit, so he played outside building stuff..I sat under the awning.
Back to the WL. The sun came out and we went swimming with the ducks. I was watching Ospreys (fish hawks) fish in the lake.
What a site. We took our showers and then had PS at Whispering Canyon Cafe..one of our favorite places. Of course it was loads of fun. DS had a blast with the horse race. I have all this on cam. We love to come back home and watch our movies. We watched the EWP, this time from the 4th floor balcony. We also watched fireworks from MK on our balcony..Have I told you lately that I LOVE MY BALCONY.
I think I forgot something,,If I remember, Ill edit.
Thanks for reading my posts.
