Again wake up and go out to my wonderful terrace to greet the day! I wish I could stay here forever! Have coffee and read paper. We are both early risers and get plenty of opportunity to enjoy our room before taking off to IOA. Off we go on that wonderful boat ride to the parks. Today is going to be easy and relaxing since neither of us want to do the roller coasters or water rides. First up is Carrosuessel. Mother gets on an animal fairly easily. However, when I try to get on the one next to her I don't take into account the this animal has a very large tail sticking up in the air. Now I am only 5'4" and all my shortness is in my legs. I try to mount and all is fine until I have to bring my right leg up and over that tail. After repeated attempts I realize this just won't work and go and find an animal with a lower tail. We have only two hilarious events on this trip and that was one of them. The other also happened on a carrosel but you will have to keep reading my reports to find out about that one!!! I hope if anyone here was filming that day and caught that scene you destroy the tape immediatly. I doubt however that any one was there since the park was virtually empty. I was first at IOA 4 1/2 years ago during soft opening and I don't think any more people were here on this trip than then when I was about the only one there. We spend some time just wondering around in the Lost Continent area until Poseidon opens at 11. Find a shop that does neat Photos with costumes. decide not to do this. That is one of my big regrets from my trip. You see I have always pictured myself as a queen and here I could have had a picture to prove it.
Went on Poseidon and then had lunch at Mythos. How empty was the Park? Only 2 other tables were in use the whole time we were there and we were there about an hour. Mother had the Burger which was huge and I had the Salmon which was fantastic. Next we continued around the park hitting Jurassic Park. Went on the river adventure and both of us really loved this.I was dissapointed that Triceatops was not open since I wanted Mother to see this. Kept going around to Toon Lagoon check out the shops and ended up at Spidey. Now here is another stupid thing I did. I sort of forgot that this was 3-d. So we used our FOTLP and went right in Didn't realy need these at all. However we went so fast through the line that we didn't see the bin where these were kept. Had a good ride any way and Mother loved it. when we came out I rode again right away with the 3-d glasses but Mother just waited and looked through the shops. We were finished at IOA and back to our room by about 2PM. We started to hear sirens soon after our return found out later that a 34 yr old woman had had a heart attack on the Hulk soon after we went passed it. The lady was given lifesupport immediately and rush to the hospital. Just before we came home I heard that she had never regained conciousness and was taken off life support and passed away. There was no problem with the ride but they did keep it closed for a day or two. A very somber ending to a fantastic day. One filled again with 2 ladies one 54 and one 80 giggling like school girls. Spent the evening cleaning up our stuff getting ready to move to WDW on WED. Then more quiet time on the terrace with the wine.
Note: If you have never been on Poseidon and wear glasses, be warned that at the best moment your glasses will fog up and you might miss the effect. If you can see at all with out them, take them off after the passage is revealed.
