Craig & Kristyl still talk about this mural. They thought it was pretty cool.
And here's our destination! Wait time: 20 minutes
Yeah Grandma..I'm real worried bout' ridin' this
We survived! Notice the look on Brandon's face. Piece of cake, Grandma.
The day was heatin' up so we decided it was time for the Rapids to cool down some. On the way Brandon stopped to talk with someone he knew from the Disney Channel.
I didn't go on Grizzly with the rest of the family. I stayed behind and took video of them as they came around on their raft. After they had passed, I watched for them to come down the path...then I waited some more. Another 20 minutes and still I didn't see them..where the heck were they?
Thinking that maybe they had passed by me without us seeing each other, I headed back down the hill. I rode my EV all the way to the front gate of the park and still didn't see them. So back up the hill I went and just sat there for awhile. I was just about ready to head back to the hotel when finally...a full hour after they had boarded their raft, I see them coming down the hill. They had decided to ride again. Corey swears to this day that he had tried to warn everyone tha Mom was going to get really worried if they didn't let me know their plans. What did everyone say...Oh...she'll understand.
Well, at least they got cooled off. Me...I was blowin' steam out my ears. How rude!
This picture of Brandon cracks me up. What a face!
We rode CA Screamin, Soarin' and TOT again that day. We saw part of the High School Musical Parade and took in the atmosphere of the Pier after dark. One word description...Beautiful.
Around 6:00 we went over to DL so we could see the Remember fireworks. This was my last chance. We used our FP for Space Mountain @ 7:30 and at some point, we ate at Pizza Port. I had $61.00 on my Disney Reward card so I only had to cough up $2.52 for all 8 of our meals there. Some of us had the pasta, some had spaghetti, and some had Pizza. The food was really good, and the portions were huge. The only negative was the line. Lines for food were long all week long except for the Dole Whip, popcorn, fruit and Churro carts. However, lines for the attractions weren't a factor for us. Either I was really good at following all the advice I had recieved here on DIS about FPs, or else the lines for the attractions just weren't very long to begin with.
So...we get a perfect spot to watch the fireworks in the hub. This was an even better spot than the night before. I had a perfect view of the castle. The show begins and it's even more awesome than the DVD I had purchased before we left home. Tink flies gracefully above us...the HM scene was spooky...the Frontierland scene with Shenendoah playing in the background was wonderfully nostolgic. Then my favorite part comes...Star Tours. I watched this scene so many times on my DVD that I knew it by heart. The lights on the castle go off, then.......nothing. A voice comes over the speakers and announces the show is cancelled because of upper atmosphere winds.
Oh...for crying out loud! I just can't win for losing!
That ended our 2nd day at DL and my last chance to see "Remember". Oh well maybe next time.
We made our way through the crowd down Main Street and back to our hotel. Disappointed, but not truly unhappy...how can I be unhappy at DL...we went to bed.
Tomorrow we go to Hollywood and Universal Theme Park.
To Be Continued on Day 4 (Pt. 1)
